What Students Say
Likes
- I like how I got to meet so many different and fabulous people. Interacting with them helped me to grow as a person and as a human being.
- Some courses provided by the University can help to get really nice placements just after getting the Bachelor's degree
- College fests are a sight to behold. They give exposure to some of the most memorable moments of one' s student life.
Dislikes
- My college does provide placements as well but relatively less alluring than some other top colleges
- Infrastructure at most ift he colleges is old and not in very good shape.
- The facility of hostel is not provided by all colleges and even so, some colleges offers hostel to either only boys or only girls.
Course Curriculum Overview
I had added B.Sc. (Hons.) Mathematics in my preference list because of how helpful it can be while trying for Actuaries along with B.A. (Hons.) Economics and B.Sc. (Hons.) Statistics. Faculty student ratio in my college must be around 1:35 to 1:40 because of high number of students. Faculty is comprised up of qualified professors who have done P.Hd. in their particular field or are on their way to get their P.Hd. degree. Some are highly intellectual individuals who teaches without any book just for the sole purpose of spreading knowledge among students while some strictly focuses on the syllabus so as to make sure that students perform well in the examinations. Exams were held just according to the scheduled time frame and mere pretty mediocre for those who have studied on a regular basis.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee differs for each course and college combination. I can't say anything about hike in fee or anything as I am a fresher myself but fee is affordable for almost everyone. Even so, University and college still offers scholarships and book grants to needy and bright students so as to encourage them to keep working hard. My fees for B.Sc. (Hons.) Mathematics 1st year in SGTB Khalsa College was ?30,280. Though there are aslo campus jobs but I don't know much about it.
Campus Life
Life at campus allows one to meet with different kind of students and people alike. It helps in broadening the views of individual and also helps in building their character that will be reflected to others throughout their lives. Fests are organised in the month of February with great enthusiasm. They all have different names and name of fest at my college is LASHKARA. Library provides not just a quiet place to study but also peace of mind since a city like Delhi is always filled with noises. Library doesn't only provides books of each and every subject taught in college but also newspapers, magazines and other latest newslatters for general knowledge and knowledge regarding affairs. Students can also create a career for themselves in sports as well. Their are 4 Arjun Award awardees from my college as well. Sports Quota can also be helpful while taking admission. Each college has its own website where information regarding college or university is posted.
Admission
Admission requires filling the form for CUET available at Samarth portal and then appearing for the exam, it's fee depends upon how many papers one want to appear in, as different courses require different combinations of subjects as part of eligibility criteria. You are also required to make a preference list for your desired combinations of courses and colleges. One improvement I want to see in this is that one should have the right to choose the preference below the one he has been allocated by the University.
Other Applied Colleges
St Stephen's College | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Economics)
I couldn't opt for it because the cutoff was quite high
