Life at NIT Rourkela

I wanted a computer science degree but i couldnt get the seat so i chose the next best one which is ece. The student ratio is 1:5 for feamles and males. The semester is roughly about 4 months .two fest happen in one semester . You will have so much free time so you can pursue your interest One course have 2 exams ,one mid semester exam and one end semester exam . Mid semester exam is for 30 marks , end is for 50 marks , and internal marks is for 20 ,total 100 marks . U can easily pass the exams

The internship season starts in the end of 4th semester and the first company which comes is barclays the stipend is 100000 per month. Most compaines come in 5th semester and it ends in 6th semester. Companies like microsoft,amex, visa ,skylark ,bajaj,saplabs ,accenture,decimal point and avg stipend 50000 but for microsoft is 125000 for month

NIT Rourkela has good placements record,ensuring excellent career opportunities for its students. Students typically became eligible for campus placements from the end of 6 the semester of their UG program .this allows us to acquire knowledge and skills before entering the job market . company visited: oracle . microsoft , texas, qualcomm, bajaj, BNY mellon, ZS, american express,visa and so many more . the highest of them all is orcale with package of 34 lpa . NIT rourkela has placment percentage of 85 to 95% . but this year is a little less due to recession. My plan is to get a placment form campus placements.

college fee is around 100000, for sc students and students whose parents income is less than 1lakh, tution fee will not be applied which is around 65000 then you need pay only 35000 . You can apply NSP scholarship and other scholarship , incase of NSP for students without catergory You get 10000 for year and for sc students you will get the around 70K for year which can cover the remaining fee.

The campus life is amazing in NIT Rourkela, For one year the campus conducts four fests which cover everyone interest like sports, tech ,cultural.The library is very big you can get almost every book you want.The social life is amazing , the campus buzzes with social activity ,fueled by numerous student run clubs and societies catering to diverse such as music ,dance ,drama ,robotics ,coding . Amenities : classrooms are designed for interactive learning ,furnished with projectors and modern teaching aids. comfortable seating . Sports and extra curriculars : NIT Rourkela promotes a healthy balance between academics and extra curricular activities. Extensive sports facilities include cricket grounds , football fields and basket ball and tennis courts and indoor sports complexes .

The admission process is straight forward, we have to clear the jee mains exam once you cleared the exam . You will be given a rank based on score of the exam score. You need apply for Josaa counselling.You need get a minimum rank of 8501 for open category, for sc catergory 1800 category rank would be enough, I got category rank 955 . The counselling happens for 6 rounds. Have hope if u didnt get the seat in first round you might get in other rounds.
