Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is nice, you get basic electronics, mechanicals, physics, and chemistry in the first year alongside with communication skills subjects, mathematics and introduction to programming, and DSA in C language. The faculties are good, they are helpful.
Placement Experience
The placement details are not bad. They are increasing over the years and our seniors are trying best to recommend the college to better companies and we can see it inviting good companies in the near future.
Fees and Financial Aid
It's a govt college and the fee of 10 lacs seems high, but it is actually high. Faculties, some seem fine and some are not fine. But the library system and curriculum seem to do justice and not overburden you.
Campus Life
The campus is small. It's only a 23-acre campus. It's a vertical growth infrastructure. Most hostels are 9-story buildings. The academic block surrounds an "open space" where most of the events are conducted. The library has all the books, you will want. It also supplies you with academic requirement books every semester so you don't have to purchase it. The have a field for sports like cricket/football grounds, a basketball court, and a tennis court. Indoor gym and a laundry area, as well as table tennis. All the hostels have a badminton court inside the hostel area so you can play at midnight after intime. They have all required clubs and the clubs are growing over the years.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel registration is very smooth. You will have to pick up chits to choose your room. Each floor has 7 rooms, 6 are 3 seaters and one 4 seater room. And one lavatory with 5 bathspaces and 4 toilets. The toilets are well maintained and cleaned on a daily basis. There hostel blocks are D, E, F, G, I, J, K, L and H block is the mess area. First years boys get the K, and L blocks which are 9 floors each, and girls get the F blocks 4 floors. There are 2 messes ( ground and 1st floor ). Food quality is average and is edible.
Admission
This is Govt of Odisha College and comes under the GFTI section of JOSAA. You can avail 50% Home state if you are from Odisha, and home state applications are submitted separately on the college website. I applied on their college website and the admission process included uploading all required documents online, on a Google form. And documents are verified online. Admission fees are paid online. All you have to do is choose your hostel room ( random chits ) on the day of admission to the college.
