- The campus life at AOT is pretty good with events and fests happening year round.
- The on-campus sports facilities offered by the college is pretty decent.
- Most of the faculties are from IITs and hold PhDs in their fields.
Dislikes
- The lack of financial assistance can hinder the ability to pay the fees for students with not so good financial background.
- The placements have not been good and students generally have to rely on off-campus placements for better offers.
- The choice of subjects reagrding electives and optionals is another bad aspect of AOT.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Electronics and Communications department has one of the hardest curriculums, which is set forward by the affiliating college i.e., MAKAUT. The college follows specific guidelines for syllabus put forth by the University. However, for electives, the college does not provide the students with many options and the students are made to choose the subjects(for electives) chosen by the college. This is mostly done due to the lack of teaching staff in the college.
Placement Experience
The placements of the college have not been good over the last few years. Though, the college showcases 141% of the students getting placed, most of them get multiple offers ad are letter laid off from companies. Major recruiters during on- campus placements are Cognizant, TCS, Persistent, KPIT, etc. The average package provided was 4lpa during the last placement season.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total tuition fees for the 4years is around ~5.1lacs. Scholarships such as SVMCM is available for students within the state, but for students from other state, it may be challengingh to look for financial assisstance, or scholarships. Apart from this the hostel fees is around 2.5lacs. And there are no opportunities for on campus employment.
Campus Life
Campus life is one of the best aspects of AOT. There are student chapters of different Streams which organize seminars, and other events with collaborations with GOOGLE developer clubs and various IITs. Also, the annual cultural fest, ARCADIA, is conducted during the month of March-April. There are various clubs that the students can join to hone their skills. The campus also has a Gym, a Football ground, a Volleyball court as well as a Basketball court.
Admission
To be eligible for admission, one needs to pass their 12th with >60% marks and appear for WBJEE exam, which is held twice in an academic year. The cutoff for CSE generally goes to around 15k in the mop-ups and one can expect admission at a rank of even ~35-40k. The college also provides TFW(tuition fee waiver) for students with better ranks.
