About my college

The management has gone somewhat loose during the recent days but it seems things will fall into place with the recent appointment of a new director.

You have to appear for Jee Main as it is a Central Government Institute. There is no interview and you have to secure rank within 30k if you don't belong to the home state category.

This college is oldest engineering college in the country. The course curriculum is almost same as the Iit Kanpur which is the mentor university of this college. The college has almost all the primary B.tech electives. Also, it provides M.sc degree in some disciplines. The research focus is primary and college has ample scopes for research.

Yes.The college provides the internship. There are recommendations and other things also most of students manage to bag an internship in top institute or company.

Placements are satisfying. Every top IT company visits the college also core companies visit the college. The placement percentage varies from branch to branch with the overall tallying to 75. Good number of companies visit the college but still, the placement can improve a lot.The average salary offered is around 4lacs.

The college has a tech fest called Instruo. It is celebrated every year and everyone gets a fair chance to participate. There is always a fair competition. There are also small club fests organized by different clubs of the college but the biggest fest is the college cultural fest Rebeca.It is celebrated on a huge budget and singers from Bollywood perform. Also, different bands perform.

The fee structure is at par with the Nits.It depends on yourself income. If your parents have income greater than 5lacs then you will have to pay around 70 thousand per semester tution fees. And if your parent income is in between one lakh to five lakhs then you have to pay 25k per semester. If income is below 1lakh you will have to pay only 8k tuition fees. Mess charges vary from 3k to 4k per month.

The scholarship is provided by the alumni to the neediest person.Loans are available on campus from Sbi bank which lies inside the college vicinity.

The Gender ratio is same as in other government engineering colleges. The distribution of female students is uneven across the department and the male dominate every department. There is a welcome party and farewell party in every dorm also small parties are given in between. The students are friendly among themselves.

The hostels provided are sharing till 2nd year and in 3rd year you may get a single room or may not but in 4th year single room will be provided to all.The sharing rooms are spacious enough to support all the students. Hostel are free and no rent is paid . The food provided is average.

The college has one of the largest alumni network as it is the oldest college prevailing. The alumni association is called Gaabesu.Every year one alumni meeting is held.The alumni are helping.

The exam structure is same as followed in Nit. Every semester is preceded by a mid-semester. And the labs are not very frequent with the exams. Labs get over before two weeks of the exam and before one week of the exams, the classes are suspended. Much time is provided between the labs and exam and they don't leave you with a hectic situation.

I came to know about the college from the Jee mains portals.Admission to this college doesn't follow any special steps.It is same as other Nit. You have to appear for the Jee mains counselling and you get selected as per your performance and rank.

All the faculties are quite experienced with each one having at least one degree from an Iit. The teaching style varies from teacher to teacher, while some can give you immense satisfaction some can disappoint you but if you have interest then the teacher will help you.
