Course Curriculum Overview
See in NIT ROURKELA MECHANICAL ENGINEERING is considered as one of the best branch. The facilities are good and the lab equipments are also good . Considering the real world application every aspect is covered you will have many lab shops in your curriculum like mqchine shop and carpentery and electrical shop. In terms of improvement I can say improvement in the way of teaching of faculty.
Internships Opportunities
If you are from IT background like CSE OR ELECTRONICS you will get ample amount of internship in your third year and the stats are very good like Amazon Microsoft also intern from here. For core there is not much about internship but for mechanical engineering you can get internship bus of the rourkela steel plant (SAIL) also get intern from here.
Placement Experience
Placements especially mechanical engineering placements stats are quite good .the average is at 11lakh per year and it fluctuates around that only The highest recent package of mechanical was 24lpa and average was 11lpa which is quite decent for core branches. And you will not believe there are 119 students in ME but the number of jobs offered was 116 quite big number. If you are not for placement we can get a great opportunity for writing the gate exam to get mtech degree or join PSUS

The fees of Nit Rourkela 4 years will get you around 8.5lakhs excluding your other expenses.yes the tuition fees are hiking every year but through scholarship you can get every aspect of the college and money is never a matter. Campus Life
Nit rourkela is full of fest and club activities. When you come to this college you will be welcomed and introduced by every club and you may choose a club of your choice. There are four fest in a year . The campus is very large to roam around and the campus greenery is also is very good. Every club here has an importance in it. The clubs mostly a side hustle for you to socialize with seniors.
Hostel Facilities
If you are a fresher you will stay at VS HALL OF RESIDENCE and believe me this is the biggest hostel (2nd biggest hostel in Asia) and this is literally huge. It is like a maze in itself. The room will have two persons and the room may become clumsy for you but after someday you will be used to it. The meal quality is decent and eatable. There don't need any registration you will be allotted on your choice only. By good bonding with your fellow hostel neighbours you can lead a peaceful hostel Life.
Admission
You jee main percentile must be above 97 if you are general and if you are home state but if you are from other state the percentile may vary from 97.7 to 98. Through jee mains you can get this branch. If you have reservation like obc then the percentile slightly decreased but not much l. St SC candidates get lot more options in this percentile category.
