Aritro Banerjee's Review On Budge Budge Institute Of Technology - [BBIT], Kolkata

Management is good and strict. Tpo ( training and placement office) is doing great and wish luck for their success . college is very good on the basis of strictness,security,studies. faculties are good ,responsible and friendly.

Firstly I had given IITJEE and WBJEE. But my IITJEE rank was very bad . Now coming to the WBJEE , my rank was 35278. In 2014 there was counseling rounds after ur jee ranks from which u could get admission. on my 1st counseling round i got BBIT and some other institution.so therefore i have applied to BBIT on the basis of my wbjee rank and got admission. Now in 2014 BBIT was just 6 years old as it was started in 2008. But a relative of mine studied from Bbit and she had told me it is a good college and she was also placed in 2013 in a IT COMPANY.

Now in BBIT the following courses are available in B.tech- 1.CSE 2.ME 3.EE 4.CE 5.ECE out of which EE department is the best.Our HOD Is ANISH DEV, a well know former professor of CU and author of childrens books. our college is vey disciplined and sincere in studies.Every student had to attend and those who are unwilling are forced to attempt every class and also there is a rule that if a student did'nt have 75% attendence then he will not be allowed to sit for the semester exams and bbit follow this strictly.The college gates remain closed untill the end of college hours so that no students can cut college or bunk college.Students have to take special permission to leave the college in case of emergency which is issued by the HOD of that student.The faculties are good and teach very sincerely and are very responsible and attentive towards each student.

No. our college do not provide internships as of now but EE department have recently started m.tech courses as well so its a possibility they could provide internship in future.

To be honest uptill 2017 there was no such placements but after our college recieved accreditation from NBA and NAAC the placements were super.This year 60+ companies came and still more are coming. From our department 14 students have been placed including me . one of my friend is placed in biju with 10 lakh PA package and another got 6 lakh PA pacakage..the rest of us are placed in core companies .IMAGINE STUDILYING CORE SUBJECT AND GETTING PLACED IN A CORE COMPANY.My package is 3lakh PA. CSE AND ECE DEPARTMENTS have 45% and 40% students placed till now and ME and CE are also doing good.AMAZON,COGNIZENT are still to come. many it companies and core companies have arrived this year and i hope the TPO cell of our college will keep on doing this great job in the years to come.i will tell some of the companies that came are as follows- 1.Biju's 2.Ramky Enviro Engineers 3.Genpact 4.Jbs 5.cognigent 6. indian Navy 7.Lt . Elevators 8.control devices these are very few companies that i have mentioned that visited our college campus.

There were fresher party and teachers day celebrated and an annual function known as the verve is celebrated every year. The verve is a 3 day cultural program where bands like fossils ,spunk come fashion shows and singing and other cultural events are hosted for 3 days. also there is our college cricket team and football cricket team. the college team plays various tournaments with other colleges and gulabi devi is a football competion hosted by our college every year. apart from it there is hostel premier league which is a cricket tournament for hostel students.

The total fee is 3.8 lakh 1 sem-55k ( including security deposit) 2 sem-45600 3 sem-4600 4 sem-45600 5 sem-45600 6 sem-49200 7 sem-49200 8 sem-49200 the security deposit is returned after 4 years before leaving college. As you can see the fee structure is far or more less . Also there is Bus transportation for students . buses are from jadavpur,behala chowrasta, 3a bus stand (thakurpukur), satragachi.

I don't know about the schorlarship but loan facility can be provided if talked to the management.sc st and obc can get yearly money by filling a form. as i am a general student and havn't opted for loan and scholarship i don't knw in details about the process

There are many students including diploma b.tech and mba. in our college campus there are seperate buildings for b.tech ,diploma and mba. many boys and girls are there mostly hindus and muslims.as i have told there is a collecmge cricket team and football team which take regular part in tournaments. also there are faculties for students interested in robotics to help them but the equipments are not provided by college and u have to buy them. the campus area is strict and the canteen area is strict as no students are allowed to roam in class hours .there is no politics associated in bbit.

There are seperate boys and girls hostels. Hostel rooms are sharing but one can get a single room for themselves .in that case charge will be more. there is a lady warden and all the staffs in girls hostel are women. there are attached bathrooms in girls hostels and food quality is good as far as hostel food is concerned. They provide lunch dinner breakfast and evening snacks also any person staying in hostel if have to leave the college campus must take a gate pass and also their parents are called and informed that their child is leaving the college campus . so there is security.

There is no ragging . as a senior student i can say that this is the safest place. Nor have i or my friends ragged anyone or when we were juniors were being ragged. juniors can contact every senior or teachers for help.All are helpful.Yes the freshers are asked to give introduction which is based on whats her name, from where he studied but nothing more than this is done.

There are 8 semesters during 4 years of B.tech course and every semester is of about 6 months.so every year there is 2 semesters.The semester exams are conducted by MAKAUT university .before every semester 2 internal exams are conducted by college whose marks are important as they are added with semester exams. the total internal exams marks are 30 out of which a student get will be added to the semester marks which is a 70 marks exam. The average of marks obtained from the 2 internals are added to the semester exams.

I got admission through my wbjee rank .when i went to the college to get admission then management of the college asked me admission is possible only if i have 60% overall marks in my 10 th and 12th respectively which i had. then they gave their fee structure and admission form . The total fee was 3.8 lakh for 4 years and it was divided as roughly 50k per semester .when i submitted the admission form i gave the fee for the 1st semester ( including security deposits ) and they gave me a payment reciept. All my documents including my 10th 12th marksheets and wbjee rank card was also submitted to the college.

The faculties are very educated. our department have 8 faculties all having master degree and few are doing research for PHD. OUR college is affiliated my NAAC and NBA so the quality of teachers are good. The lab assistants are diploma qualified. Not only in EE department all the courses have able and qualified faculties and they are all friendly and we can have access to them whenever we need them .
