Course Curriculum Overview

I was influenced by the current market condition, because in todays date every student who is pursuing btech wants to take admission in cse branch. After taking admission in CSE branch i started enjoying the couse.

Our college is very much aware for the placements. Our placement head professors regulary tell us to prepare for placements like do problem solving, aptitude test, maintains some skills and all. Yes thats it.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college fees is around 3.45 lacs for 4 years and if you see semwise its 45000. And the admission fees was 65000. And you can get scolarship like svmcm front the government. In that schoalrship you will get 60k per year.

Campus Life

Ahhh.... BP Poddar's campus is not very good. It doesnot has a single ground in it. On name of campus it only has three Buildings and that's it. That is the only disappointing thing. Other than that everything is good.

Admission

I have taken admission in the college through wbjee. My rank was around 6k. Any student having rank in range 6-12k can get in cse branch of the college. And for other branches your rank should be below 25k

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

My POV

I appeared for an entrance exam and I got a seat for CSE (data science) course at Techno International New Town. But I filled upgradation form and went for round 2. And I got a seat for Information Technology course at B. P. Poddar Institute of Management and Technology. So I took admission in this college rather than taking risks of going to round 3. At our college students can get admission by giving entrance exams like JEE Mains and WBJEE. Cutoffs for different courses vary every year. I got in techno international new town college in first round of counciling there i choose to upgrade because I thought I can get better in 2nd round so in 2nd round I get this bppimt college so I choose it because it was in upper of my college preference that I made from the online research and asking my friend and family members who studied in there .
