Remarks

NAAC A grade college, an Autonomous college of Lucknow University having its own academic potential. Every course is run on semester basis which is great. College experience is great overall ignoring some minor drawbacks.

Entrance Preview

I took LUACMAT(Lucknow University Affiliated Colleges Management Entrance Test). I secured 52nd rank and the total number of seats available for BCA in National PG College is 60. I opted for this college because I had to pursue BCA and in Lucknow, this was the best option. Total 8 college gives admission through LUACMAT, which is conducted by National PG College only. In those 8 colleges, all students aim for National PG College and the reason I quoted earlier.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Since our college is the autonomous college of Lucknow University, so it has the freedom of structuring its syllabus. A syllabus is well structured. Every semester there are 6 subjects including the practical subject with minor projects. 6th semester also has major industrial projects. Many colleges lack industrial projects but this is plus point in this college. The syllabus is more or less the same as MCA in many Central universities, with fewer complications as we are doing BCA not MCA. Every even semester there are elective subjects like stress management, smart cities, creative writing and many more. Syllabus and exams are based on CBCS(Choice Based Credit System). As far as research is concerned faculty emphasizes on research topics and assigns such tasks to students.

Internships Opportunities

No our college does not provide internships right now. But for final year project internships are required by the college which is mostly paid internships. Internships are not offered by companies direct placement is done.

Placement Experience

3

Placements are average overall. 80% students are placed in BCA. Job opportunity is good but not great. Google Ads, British Telecom, Concentrix came to campus. Also TCS came for off campus placement. Concentrix offered an average of 2 lpa. TCS more of less offered the same but it has more growth rate and opportunities for students. Overall placemts are okk not so good not so bad.

College Events

3

There are mainly two events in our college one is Azaadi which is held on 15th August every year where inter-branch competition is organized for singing and dancing both in solo as well as group category. Other is Pragyan where Inter branch Drama competition is organized. Various technical seminars and workshops happen in college time to time with rangoli competition and painting competition. And participation in such events is quite good. NSS Camps are also organized every year for interested students. With these many seminars are also organized and celebrated.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure for BCA is Rs 28000/per semester. It is feasible and not very expensive as it is a professional course. Its very affordable and less than many colleges in Lucknow. Quality education and facilities are there. For B.Sc its 21000 for one year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship is awarded to top 3 rankers in semester exams of every course. Otherwise UP government scholarship is available for college students with family income less than 2,00,000 per annum. College in general does not any offer scholarship/loan facility.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is good as you will make good friends from good schools so overall atmosphers pf college is very different than most of the colleges in lucknow. Gender ratio is not a factor as our college has almost equal male and female students. Apart from two cultural fests Azaadi and pragyan, rsngoli competition, paonting competition, gk quizes and various quizes of different departments and extra curricular activites are there. Even various seminars on topics like robotics, AI and quantum computers and many more are organised throughout the year. But one complaint is there that fests and events in our college are not like other college festa and events.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facility is quite good and mess food is also eatable and good in taste. There are two hostels one for boys and one for girls. AC rooms are available as per the requirement of the students. Laundry facility is available. Mess Food is good and healthy. Rent for the hostel is approx 5000 rs per month.

Alumni/Alumna

Aumni network os not so good because seniors are not so well interacted with is. Senior students are really helpful in every aspect. They guide through projects and college situations to beware of the risks.

Exam Structure

There are 2 tests in one semester and one final exam every semesterfor each subject. Labs and practicals are done way ahead of exam schedule so that students get most of the time to prepare for their exams. So basically its quite chilled out. Exams are not scheduled in a hectic manner at all even they are very simply structured and quite easily managable. For odd semesters exams start in mid of November and end by first week of December and for Even semester exams start in mid of April and end by first week of May which is quite good schedule as compared to other colleges and universities.

Admission

I Got admission in this institute by securing good rank in LUACMAT exam. Notification was released in month of April and Last Date of online application was 14 June, 2016 at that time. Application fee of form was Rs 800 then. Students securing good rank in LUACMAT were messeged personally by college about their result. Results can also be checked on College website portal. Then I had to go for counselling with all my documents and certificates and DD of 29000rs. I was asked to rank my preferences of college and I ranked National PG #1 then Ramswaroop Memorial and so on. Forms are available on https://www.admission.npgc.in

Faculty

4

Faculty is well qualified and have good knowledge of the subject but most of the faculty is young so lacks experience, there are experienced and interested faculties also. Teaching is done on regular basis, not like any other government or private college where teachers are either absent or do not come for the classes. All faculties have master degrees and are pursuing PhD. Many of them have PhD already with good experience. Course is completed every semester in reality by any means possible.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Greater Noida Institute of Technology (GNIOT) are decent but not exceptional. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester onwards. Companies like TCS, Wipro, and Infosys visit the campus, along with some startups, and offer roles mainly in IT support, development, and trainee positions. The highest package offered is around 8–10 LPA, while the average package ranges between 4–5 LPA, and the lowest is around 2–3 LPA. Approximately 60–70% of students get placed, while others either go for higher studies or off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the BCA program because of my interest in software development and web technologies. The curriculum’s focus on core subjects like Java, C++, and Database Management Systems (DBMS) was a major deciding factor, as these are the building blocks for a career in IT. ?The syllabus could be updated more frequently to include emerging technologies like Cloud Computing or AI/ML as core subjects rather than electives. Moving away from traditional rote learning toward more project-based learning would be beneficial. More frequent industry guest lectures would also bridge the gap between academia and corporate life The exam will be I would rate the difficulty as moderate. If you stay consistent with your lab work and internal assignments, the end-semester exams are quite manageable. The technical papers (like Mathematics or Architecture) tend to be the most challenging.

Placement Experience:

Around 70–80% of students from the course get placed through campus recruitment drives every year. The average package ranges between 3–5 LPA, while the highest package can go up to 8–10 LPA depending on skills and performance. Top recruiting companies include TCS, Wipro, Infosys, HCL, and other reputed firms. A good number of students also secure internships in companies related to their field, which helps in gaining practical exposure and industry experience. The common roles offered include software developer, data analyst, trainee engineer, and support roles, providing a solid start to students’ careers.

Placement Experience:

Placement in my college are very very average. I say below average because the placement average package of average 500 students was around 4 lakhs. And there are more than 10,000 students in my college. So the placement is very low. And the highest package for BCA, was around 10,00,000 and engineering around 20,00,000. An MBA was also around 13 to 14 lakhs. So the placement is very bad in my college.

All Faculties are good and everyone has a lot of experience in their work also support students. Faculty qualification is best and their way of teaching and explaining is also good. Mid-term exams are very good and they are also very tough.
