Course Curriculum Overview
I wanted to pursue BTech in CSE but couldn't get it because of my rank, so I took this course as this has a lot of the same courses as CS. Since, I am in first year till now there are courses like professional communication or ethics which increse your confidence and help you to give presentations fluently. There are many courses which are of no need to a IT brach student like chemistry or engineering drawing. There are two main exams each sem with one to two quizzes in between per course.
Placement Experience
From the third year students can sit in on campus intervies. Varis companies like Oracle, Texas Instruments, Microsoft, Google have visited our campus. The highest package given last year is 54 lakhs and average was 11 lakhs combined all branches. From IT 100% students get placements. After getting the degree I will work.
Fees and Financial Aid
Per sem the fees is about 100000 excluding mess and hostel fees, for backward classes there is a deduction of fees. There is not much change in the fees per year. There are a few scholarships which NITK gives to people from backward classes, since I haven't opted for any I don't know their names. NITK offers campus employement to Mtech people and to people to a part of one of the clubs such as IRIS.
Campus Life
Incident and Engineer, they take place in March and October. There is a vaste collection of books in the library plus there is an e library where there are published journals. There are routers and projectors in every classroom. People can play all kind of sports from Cricket to Tennis. Their are various student clubs like racing, dance, art and some technical clubs.
Hostel Facilities
In each room a student is given a bed, chair and table, cupboard and the room has a ceiling fan with one or two lights. The food varies from hostel to hostel but on average it is between medium and bad, but you get used to it. Registration process is completely online and very simple. Living in the hostel.
Admission
The candidate must be a 12th pass and must get a decent rank in jee mains. The application form is available on jee website and the fees is 1 thousand. No reservations were availed. The exam occurs twice a year and has a medium difficulty on average. The admission process is a bit complex, if the josaa site could give a tutorial that would be helpful.
