My view of nitk

Eee course that is being taught is recommended to anyone who wants to develop practical knowledge about the subject Courses like analysis of circuits and mathematics are some very crucial courses taught in 1st year. Although analysis of electric circuits, too much of in depth knowledge was imparted compared to the level of students still it was manageable. Courses like Matlab basis, power circuits etc is also greatly beneficial Courses can be made less hectic and stresss free A lot of syllabus is completed in a particular semester thus making it hard to catch up on Lab courses should be evenly distributed in the course of 4 years There are 2 exams mid sems and end sems for ee course Along with that we get multiple quizzers and assignments during classes The faculty members are friendly and solve all doubts

Internships start from third year and college tries for every student to get internship. The internship opportunities in nitk is not bad. Companies like oracle, Microsoft, Google, Nvidia, tcs, Texas instruments, Infosys offer internships in the college

The placement in our college is pretty good Students start getting internships in third year Jobs are offered in seventh year The average lpa for eee course is around 17 Companies like Google, Nvidia, Qualcomm, amazon, Mercedes, cisco, Microsoft visit the campus The highest package from ee branch in campus is 51 lacks and percentage of students getting placed is over 85 percent My plan after getting a degree is to identify a crucial problem from my specialised field and solve it embarking in an entrepreneurial journey

I'm from first year but based on the information given by seniors I've come to the understanding that based on my performance internships are offered from third year from top companies This happens in campus Fees is 2 lakhs approximately and is not increasing that much year by year( staying kind of consistent) Fee reduction is made for reserved candidates based on their background

As of now i haven't joined any clubs but I'm looking forward to joining ieee and music club There are 2 major fests in nitk Tech fest - Engineer And arguably the best fest in south India- the Incident Engineer is usually held in the month of October during the odd semester Incident usually happens on Feb or March ( even sem) Our libraries are a rich source of knowledge and is among the top libraries in colleges in india There are various sports equipments and other facilities Sports is given a lot of importance alongside academics Inter nitcompetition for various sports happen and nits all across India participate in this Inside the campus too many sports events are held like freshers cup, pg cup etc. There's occasional dance competition too and stage for music enthusiasts too showcase their talents There's no shortage of clubs of any sort My first year had been a lot of fun also considering the fact that our college has its own beach. Club events are held frequently keeping u preoccupied

Hostel facilities are decent and satisfy needs But occasional problems are caused In summer there's sometimes a water shortage in the months of April - March The hostel also has a common room for students to come along play and interact There's occasional problems with taps too sometimes the speed of water isn't good enough Also the rooms on first floor face a lot of bugs issues The rooms are clean and address neither too big not too small One can encounter funny graffiti in certain rooms but other that that rooms are fine Quality of mess food doesn't match expectationsand could be improved The menu of food for each week is consistently followed Quality of food can be improved And mess timings should also be extended since there's only 2 hrs of slot for each meal

I write jee mains after working hard for an year The cutoff for cs branch was 3k ( home state) and for eee branch cutoff went down to 9k( hs) ( josaa cutoffs) Application form, fees and dates I found it in the official nta website and college related information I could find it in the official nitk website. There's branch related websites for every branch Jee exams happen every year and usually students get two attempts . In nitk, sja has not been in workings condition for past few days and this could be improved Mess should be kept more clean ( hygiene wise) Other facilities in nitk like gym also need to be improved some there is shortage of equipments etc Less usage of over bridge to communicate between both sides of campus due to insecurity in stability of bridge is some serious concern to look upon
