honest review of nitk

The course curriculum is extremely industry relevant. A meeting is held between all the faculties and industry leaders to get a review on the relavence of the course for the industry at that particular time and the required modifications are done to the course plan to keep the course relevant.The curriculum prepares us well for the real world by making us do multiple minor and major projects. Aspects that influenced me to chooses the course were the booming industry in AI and my interest to learn more about programming since i had very little knowledge about it before joining the university.The semesters last anywhere between five to three and half months depending on the season and availability of water supply since it is a coastal region.

I am new to the campus so i don't know much about the placements.The average package as per the data is 9 lac and median package is around 15 lac. A lot of top companies like Goldman Sachs,Google,Oracle etc come for both placements and internships. Students are eligible for internships in the 5th or 6th semester and placements begin from the 7thsem and mostly go on till 8th sem. The data on percentage of people getting olaced can be seen on the official NiTK website.

The fees structure is very well set up.The tution fees is around 70,000 Rs without fee remittance and based on the income of the damily some portion of the fee is remitted varying from (100% to 66%).The hostel fees is either 31000 Rs or 32000 Rs depending on whether it is an odd sem or even sem. There are lot of chances to avail scholarships as well as loans. I have not availed any such loans or scholarships but my friend were able to avail these. Since i am new to the campus i don't know much about campus employments.

The campus life very good and enriching.The size of the campus is about 300 acres with a private beach and light house.There are about 5-6 technical clubs like IET,IEEE,ACM etc.Throughout the year these clubs organize a lot of fun events with good rewards. There ais NCC ,NSS,Yoga Club,Drama and Music club and wide variety if clubs that are run by students.There are three main annual events ,those are Engi(Tech festival),Incident and Bharat Darshan.The facilities are very good.The library here has a vast array of books and journels to read from.

The facilities provide in the room are shelves for every individual in the room,mosquito nets,a fanetc. If there are any problems a we put ip a complaint in the hostel office the problem will be resolved within 2 days.The meals are of good quality and standard with monthly grand dinner. In the first year boys get two choose from 1 veg mess and two non veg mess. In the non veg mess nonveg us served for around five days a week but if the individual doesn't want to eat non veg there are godd veg alternatives also in the mess.The fee for the hostel should be paind on tbe website provided by the NITK before appearing for verification and allotment. And the hostels and mess will be alloted during that time itself .

The admission process was pretty smooth since it was held by Josaa.All the application form,fees and dates will be given by Josaa after a few days after Jee Advanced results are out.There are two sessions of exam(Jee Mains) with about 14 exams per session.The first session of the exam is the best time to score high percentile since the students get more time and more incentive to prepare for mains after the first session which usually happens in the month of January and the papers of second session in April is relatively more tougher than the January paper. The eligibility for AI course as per last year was rank around 5600 for General category(Home State quota).
