Truth about NITK

I chose the course because I got it in the josa council and that AI was trending and is going to trend. In the first year we learnt environmental studies which basically was a good study about the environmental conditions. I am from AI and I didn't study computers that properly before 12th so I had problems in 1st year as in the psc our teacher took classes where I would understand but in lab they didn't help us do questions .I think they should provide answers with questions in normal lab. there should be gap between exams in the endsemesters

The internships starts from the third year that is 5th semester. Microsoft, oracle, Wipro and other companies come to nitk for internship and offers different roles .I don't really know the project that need to be performed .

I think from 4th year studenst are eligible for placements so 7th semester .I don't have the idea about companies visiting right now . Highest was 60 lakhs I think and the average package is 18.2 lakhs per anum.

The tuition fees is Okay right now, we are able to pay and I don't think there should be any increase in the tuition fees. I don't have that much idea of scholarship as a first year but I availed the obc scholarship from the college which decreased fees which was pretty good and helpful for us orelse we had to take loan to pay the fees

I have attended the engineer fest which was pretty good. All the festivals are celebrated here which is nice like Ganesh Pooja in September, deepawali in November, engineer fest in October is all that I remember. All the college related books are present in the library and other theory books are also present which is really good. They are many sports facilities such as basketball court, cricket ground,tennis court,football ground, table tennis table , volleyball court, kho kho ground ,athletic ground and other sports facilities are also there .In class there is a projectors which are usefully to display topics and we have computer labs , IT lab , EG lab , chemistry lab , physics lab and many other facilities. There are many technical and non-technical clubs that students can participate and work in the field they are interested in . There are 25 student clubs like IET,IEEE and etc . As a first year being able to to join this club will be good and will learn a lot .This help us a lot

The room is cleaned frequently which is good .The quality of meal is not that good and needs to improve.hostel is affordable but mess fees is a lot compare to the quality given .I would rent a room in mangalore which will have a good locality.

I took jee as the entrance exam to come to the college within obc category I was qualified for AI branch and got my seat . I got all the information in the NITK website about the application fees,application form and application date. I got reservation benefits as I would get mechanical with my general rank but I got AI with my obc rank. My jee main paper in the January that is the first attempt was in medium type where I was not able to manage time cause of which I got 97.7 percentile but in the second attempt I managed to do most of the questions within time and recheck which I had doubt on which made me get 98.5 percentile in the second attempt. I came to NITK for the admission process on 16th of August. I think they had three rounds of verification, 1st round was physical verification of the 10th,12th marksheets and etc documents. My suggestion is to covet the message properly about the xerox of the documents and to do signature of the documents before hand. The other two rounds were great
