Likes
- Campus is huge with lots of trees. We have a private beach which is a great spot to spend time with friends.
- There is a bus stand for our college. So we get direct buses to Udupi and Mangalore from our college gate. The local food is very tasty and amazing.
- Placements and internship opportunities are good. Research support is also very strong. Bangalore is nearby hence a lot of companies visit for campus placements
Dislikes
- Being a coastal region,The weather here is very humid , throughout the year. There is no Winter season as such.
- As there are a lot of trees and plants, mosquitoes sometimes give a lot of trouble.Snakes and insects are also present .
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is well designed . Every semester we learn new subjects which have great practical application and are extremely important. These subjects are even important for Masters and for clearing their entrance exams. Practical exposure should be increased so as to understand the application. Learning should be In a way that helps to realise the practical application. Exams take place Twice per sem along with countinous evaluation consisting of quizzes, assignments and lab exams. Difficulty of these exams are up to the mark
Internships Opportunities
A lot of companies visit for internships. Companies like Google Microsoft Amazon Texas Instruments Nvidia Intel Qualcomm etc visit our college with stipends more than 70k per month. The career development centre plays a important role in coordinating with the companies and inviting them for recruitment. Technical clubs conduct executive projects in 2nd year which helps a lot in building resume.Along with that one can work under a specific professor for research project.
Placement Experience
Campus placements begin from 7th semester. Internship opportunities begin from 5th semester. Placements are decent in our college , with around 95+ % placements in our department. Companies like Google, Microsoft,Amazon, Texas Instruments, Nvidia, Intel , Qualcomm, Gold man Sachs etc visit our campus with dream packages. Overall percentage placement is around 90 percent , as many directly apply for masters. As of now,my plan after getting degree is to work and gain experience.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution Fees is around 1.5 lakh per year. Hostel and mess fees is around 70 thousand per year . Overall cost of education will be around 10lakhs. There are a couple of scholarships available for students , some for females, some for EWS category. Internships are offered in 3rd year and placements start from 4th year. Apart from that Competitions and events Take place continuously with decent prize pools.
Campus Life
Campus life is awesome. We have a private beach to relax and chill. Technical fest (ENGINEER) takes place in October and Cultural fest (INCIDENT) takes place in March.We have two libraries present currently and a third one in construction. A wide variety of books are available which can be issued by students.Classrooms are well equipped with smart fans , projectors , Charging facilities per bench , smart boards. There are 2 grounds in our campus where different sports activities take places like hockey,kho kho , kabbadi, cricket , football etc. Two indoor courts for badminton and table tennis. We have 30+ clubs present which are student run. These clubs play a important role as they provide exposure to various things.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is available in our campus. We have around 11 blocks for boys and 3-4 for girls. In our room , Fans, wardrobes, table and chairs, beds, rods for hanging clothes, Charging points are provided.Mess meals are average . Menu usually changes every 2 month. Registeration process for hostel is very simple . Majority of work takes place online.
Admission
Entrance exam was JEE Mains. Cutoff for General open category is around 98/ 98.5 percentile . Jee details is available on their website (JOSAA) Exams take place twice a year which average difficulty. The website could be improved so as to avoid crashing
