NITK- The college of dreams

The Electronics and Electrical course in NITK, is well planned, the well balance between electrical and electronics subjects offered to the students was one of the main deciding factors for me to choose this course. The curriculum requires students to do about 3-4 projects in their B.Tech degree which helps students to have hands-on and real-world expereince. However some of the subjects are still lagging behind in terms of topics being thought, it would be nice if they focused more on application based teaching rather than theory based teaching, apart from it its a very good courses and the Faculties are very well versed in the courses that they offer

The students get offered internships in the 5th sems, many companies come to hire students from campus, there are exams and intervies held. Companies like, google, microsoft, oracle, TI, NVIDIA, ola, and many others come to campus. They offer stipends in the range of 25k to 1.5lk to students. The roles offered are of the range of Software developer, Product manager, Design Engineer, etc.

Students become eligible for campus placements in their 7th year, there are around 100+ companies that visit the campus, namely, Morgan Stanlet, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Texas Instruments, and many others. The placement record is almost 95%. The highest package offered is about 58lk and average of 20lk

There is a tution fee hike of 5% every year which is mentioned during the admission process during 1st year. The fees is paid every semester and constitues of academic fees, and hostel fees. Hostel fee is 35000 every year, and the tution fee is approx 80k for odd sem, and 70k for even sem. It cost about 9 lakh for me to complete my education for 4years. However there are scholarships for students who need financial aid and the college gives about 100% tution fee waived for students with anual income less than 1lk, 75% waived for annual income 3-5lk. There are other private scholarships which will be informed to students when they join the college. There are no campus employment oppurtutnities

The campus life of the college is the most intresting part of the college. There are two annual events held, INCIDENT (cultural fest) during the even semester, (March) and ENGINEER (technical fest) during the odd semester (October). There are many clubs in the college namely, IEEE, ISTE, IET, IE, NITKRacing, Robocon, FARC, DDFC, these clubs provide students with the much required exposure in college. The students can acces millions of online jounals and books for free through the digital library, they will also have access to books through the normal library. The classrooms are technologically advanced with many state of the art facilites. There is a huge sports ground which is buzzing with activities, students will get to represent college for many sports too. There are many social-run groups, clubs like IEEE, ISTE, IET, IE, these clubs help students a lot.

The hostels offered to us are of 3 sharing for 1st year, 2 sharing for 2nd year and single sharing for 3rd and 4th years. The rooms have internet facilities and are spacious, The meal quantity is good, however the quality isnt that great, the menu is very special too. The hostel registration is done along with the college admisions and is affordable too

To qualify for this particular college, you have to write the JEE(Mains) exam. The application form to this exam can be found in the JEE mains online portal. This exam is conducted by the NTA and is a nation wide exam. There are reservations for people from homestate, SC/ST, OBC, and Females. A speicifc percentage of seats in every branch is reserved for these particular categories. Jee mains will be conducted twice every year during jan, and may. The difficulty of the exam is medium-hard.
