Remarks

College management never supports students with money for any external events and symposium. It is students who have to pay for their wallets. Overall the college is not strict with rules and you can complete your studies peacefully though with less technical knowledge.

Entrance Preview

I wanted to pursue automobile engineering and this college was known to be good in automobile engineering course in and around Chennai. The college had assured placement during admission process but eventually failed with that. I had SRM University has an option but eventually, I chose this because of its fees and scholarship.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The course for my batch was a bit outdated. but the preceding batch had outcome based syllabus. The new syllabus has the option to select subjects from other fields too. The exam pattern is different from ours. Overall the new syllabus is better. There are electives like automotive aerodynamics, computational fluid Dynamics, and electronic engine management system

Internships Opportunities

No, college never helped students in providing the internship. The were no stipends too. They only provided industrial visit, not training.

Placement Experience

1

There were only 2 core companies who came for placement (Tata Aig and Evinion) Tata aig wanted car analyst and provided a package of 3 lakshya per annum and Evinion 1.4 lakhs per annum ,rest all were software companies like Amazon, idbi bank , yes bank , zoho corp and

College Events

4.5

There is one event conducted by automobile department called VAHANAA it is automobile symposium conducted once in 2 years. It showcases superbikes, cars, and bike Stunt show and has technical and non-technical events. There are other programs like Yarona and YOLO.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is expensive. They charge you unnecessarily in fee structure. They don't provide proper books even after charging 14,000 for book bank. The fees structure is around 2-2.5 lakhs per year which includes book bank, tuition fees, miscellaneous fees, pre-placement training fees, library fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship up to 75% depending upon your 12th marks. I got 25% scholarship for my 91% in 12th. The scholarship is calculated according to your 12th maths, physics and chemistry marks cutoff.

Alumni/Alumna

There were few alumni who helped with recommendations in the place they work. There is a event once in a year for alumni meet up.

Exam Structure

You totally have 4 exams to attend. First internal assessment, second internal assessment, models and final semester. The internal marks are 50 and final semester marks are 50. Final grades are based on your internal and external marks. If you fail in external you will reappear and if you have a low internal mark you will get sem carry ( subject has to be studied again in next semester )

Admission

I bought my form from Indian post office near Central. I filled the form and sent to the college address. I got the approval and entrance examination date. I attended the exam and cleared with some rank in 100's. Accordingly I was called for counseling and got my admission. I even got 25% scholarship because of my 12th marks.

Faculty

2.5

Few faculty members are exceptional with many years of industrial experience and even teaching experience. But most of the staff are underperforming with their suffice knowledge and poor communication skills. But all the teachers are friendly and helpful.

Specific schedule is not followed in college regarding the academic and co curricular activities. Sudden decisions will be taken by the management which is a bit difficult for the students and faculty too. There were times where faculties are fed up of management rules and decisions.

1.) Placement begins from the pre-final year and we are allowed to apply for companies from the final year. 2.) Around 70% of the class gets placed in reputed companies with an average CTC of 4-8 LPA. 3.) Along with core biotech companies, many IT companies are also hiring students at a very decent package. 4.) I plan to pursue a master's after this course.
