- Exposure: You get to meet a lot of people and learn new things
- Social life: Clubs and fests are very fun and joyful.
- Placements and Internships: Great opportunities if you have good skills and have projects under your name.
Dislikes
- Hostel: I won't say it's horrible but it can be better
- Food: Mess food is literally inedible... improvement is needed
- Gender Ratio: This is also a bad thing...it's literally 30:70
Course Curriculum Overview
My senior is from NITK...he compelled me to join this college and I have no regret whatsoever. Although the syllabus is very vast and useful, the teachers for first years are bad. No teaching experience and you need to study on your own. But from second years onwards you get better teachers.
Internships Opportunities
From second year onwards internships start...and in internship season a lot of companies visit the campus. Mostly circuital branch people get good internships..for non-cicuital people a lot of work is needed...I mean if you have good skills and are doing projects then surely you will have a great chance
Placement Experience
Placements are good as per seniors feedback. For my branch : Mechanical average placement for 2023 was 12LPA. Internships are also available for second third year students. It's difficult but possible.
Fees and Financial Aid
I'm a general student. I can tell you from my experience...the fees is around 2,30,000 around for each year including everything. That's average for an NIT. However I have a few friends who have applied for scholarships and they are receiving them each year.
Campus Life
NITK is too good in terms of clubs, campus life, etc. There are a lot of clubs to choose from. Two fests taken place each year : Engineer and Incident and both are amazing. All sports facilities are available. The college is far better than others in terms of library and other facilities
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is okayish I would say. The mess food is bad. Very bad tbh. I stay in a triple sharing room. There are newly constructed hostels as well but we don't get them immediately. We have been accomodated in old hostels but they improve year year.
Admission
Admission process was very smooth, since I'm a general student I didn't have to submit any other certificates. Everything was online and easy. I'm a mechanical student and my cutoff was 15k in csab round.
