My Experience

I guess the only negative remark I would be regarding the lack of extra curricular activities. They promised us lots of extra curricular activities and programs but so far have only delivered only on a few promises. Also some of the faculty seem to have little experience in the teaching field in particular and it shows in the way they conduct classes.

One of the best colleges in India. It is 3rd in rank all over India and has great study programs. Also provides tons of internship opportunities along with the opportunity to study abroad. There are plenty of clubs and extracurricular activities are mandatory as they are part of our grading criteria.

It contains subjects that create well-rounded students. Our first year had us studying the basics of computer, electronics and physics. Additional subjects included English for communication purposes and soft skills that built on our practical skills i.e. for interview and job purposes.

Yes my college provides internships. The stipend depends on the company providing the internship. Some internships are provided for students to gain better work experience as well as to enhance their skills. However so far internships have provided up to 10,000 rupees as stipend.

This college has one of the best opportunities for placements, guaranteeing job placement to more than 95% of the students studying here. Companies all over India approach this college due to it's good repute and guarantee of producing capable and skilled employees.

We had celebrated cultural festivals like Onam with dance and song. We had also celebrated teacher's day by organizing a special day for our teachers and honouring them for all their hard work. We had a cultural and sports fest as well which our neighbouring colleges also attended. To end our cultural fest we had a performance by both Damini Bhatla and Benny Dayal

The feasibility of the fee structure depends on the rank that you secured. There are 5 different ranks and the fees gradually increase depending on your score and the rank that you have secured. All in all the system in place is reasonable and rewards those students who have performed well in the entrance exams.

I'm not sure about any loans or scholarships offered by the college

Campus life is good. There are plenty of clubs that offer a wide range of extracurricular activities. The gender ratio, like any other engineering college, is a little uneven with the boys being in greater number than girls. The clubs all are headed by good faculty however it is up to the students themselves to make sure their club is functioning to the best of their abilities.

The hostel facilities are more than adequate. There are cleaning staff that come every day and clean up the rooms while we are away at college. The security is strong. The mess food is good too, with good variety and lots of options for both veg and non veg students.

My current college does not have any alumni as we are the first batch here. However the senior students at the other VIT branches, namely Vellore and China, are extremely helpful and gave us valuable insight into college life among other things. Our alumni are extremely accomplished and distinguished persons in their respective fields of work.

It is open notebook exams which is a great method of testing. It tests us based on our knowledge and practical application skills rather than our memory and rote learning. There are also lab exams where we practically apply everything we learned in class. We also have engineering clinics where we need to produce a working project based on what we have learned that semester.

Wrote an all India entrance test for this particular institution. Acquired a rank that was eligible for admission to one of their four branches. Went for counselling to the main campus in Vellore and according to my rank and the number of remaining seats received admission for my particular course in my current college.

The faculty is well educated and almost every single one has a PhD to their name, including the English faculty as well. They have all received their degrees and post graduation degrees from esteemed institutions. They are experienced teachers and are qualified singularly for their subject
