Entrance Preview
JMET My rank was 307 I selected the college because of its history. It has a history from 1847. Yes, 1847 more than 160 years. It is always good to be an alumnus of such a college. IIT Roorkee does require an introduction.
Course Curriculum Overview
Total 4 Semesters First 2 semester is common for all. Last 2 you can opt two electives (specialization) 1) Marketing 2) Finance 3) Operations 4) IT 5) HR.
Internships Opportunities
You have lots of companies visiting the campus or conduct online interview or telephonic interview for internships. Summer Internship after 1 years is compulsory. However, I also did winter internship for 1 month in startup. Stipend varies a lot. From no stipend to as high as 1.5 lacs per month. IT depends of the profile of yours and interview.
Placement Experience
IIT Roorkee tag is enough for companies to come to the campus. Companies like Delloite, KPMG, Infosys, ShepHertz, Cresil, Boston Consulting... and so on.Highest package is as high as 15 LPA and average is 9 LPA.
College Events
Every month there is some of the other events in the campus. It is very difficult to write all. The events all international standards. You will learn a lot and enjoy too.The only thing you should keep in mind is you should actively participate.
Fee Structure And Facilities
You can consider MBA from IIT Roorkee is one of the cheapest MBA in the country. An MBA will cost you 5-6 Lacs for 2 years including hostel fees. (Hostel is mandatory)IIMs charge 15-20 lacs. The ROI is very good. You invest 5 lacs and you get 10 lacs as your starting salary. Also, it is affordable for most of the students.
Fees and Financial Aid
During admission time you will encounter lots of bankers throwing you bank loans at a very very attractive deal.SBI and PNB are the major ones as these banks are in-campus.
Campus Life
Gender ratio in IITs is very poor. For every 15 students you have only 1 girl. But for MBA you have 2 girls for every 15 boys. Hostel parties are very common as there is minimal interference from management. The sports facilities is the best in the country. I can really beat on this. You have everything you ask. Extracurricular activities are up to you. There are multiple classes for these activities such as music, dance etc.
Hostel Facilities
There are 15 hostels for boys and 2 for girls. Hostel facilities are the best I would say in the country. GYM, Library, TV room, indoor sports like pool etc are available in hostel itself. Food is also good and of high quality. But will not taste like you
Alumni/Alumna
160 years of college. The first college in Asia. You can make out the level of alumni network. Its world wide in very field we know. You will find most of the CXO level employees are from IITs. And it always good to connect with them. College regularly Alumni meet across the globe.
Exam Structure
Every semester has a mid-sem exams and end-sem exams. Min-sem values 30% whereas end-sem the rest. All the exams are important because your final CGPA has affect of all the exams. Previous exam papers will help you a lot to score marks in all exams.Howeve

Every college has some good faculties and some average faculties. Being in IIT Roorkee. The number of good faculties will be more.In my department out of 20 faculties: 5, excellent 12, good 3, average.
