Likes
- The classrooms are air conditioned and spacious.
- It is only 4 km away from airport so this is very nice.
- We will not have any non-core subjects we have to study only our field of study.
Dislikes
- Sports facilities are poor not so good. So we can't develop our skills.
- The nearest market is 4 kilometres away so this make trouble.
- Gender ratio is not acceptable. There are only 7-8 girls on 200 students.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choosed electronics and communication engineering because it is a evergreen branch we can move into core and non core fields both from this branch. The course is very nice and taught very nicely, no such improvements are needed. I was having a lot of interest in electronics. Electronics is very tough branch among all the branches.
Internships Opportunities
Larsen, piramal, TVS, GAIL visit for internship at college. And the deserved students get so many opportunities to fly. I don't know much about projects as I am a first year student. But we have to do some of them to get internship.
Placement Experience
From 7th Semester students are able to get intern and job opportunities. Previous year approx 700 offers were made to students.and approx 200+ companies visited. And highest package was of 2 crore and average package was 40 lakhs. 90%+ students are placed and I want to be among them after 4 years.
Fees and Financial Aid
The complete cost of my education is about 2.5 lakhs including tution fee and hostel fee. There are many such scholarships are available for poor students which have their family income certificate less than 5 lakhs. Financial facilities are available within the campus. And about stipends I don't know much as I am a first year student.
Campus Life
Technical fest - Techniche conducted in September and it is the largest technical fest in North India. Cultural fest - Alchrianga Also the Ed cell conducts udgam which is the annual entrepreneurship summit of iitg. Very wide variety of books are available in library. Classroom are nice and there is a biometric attendance system so we can't mark proxy. IITG is performing very nice inter IIT sports and we can't join technical clubs in first year here. From 2nd year we can join and learn new things.
Hostel Facilities
In every hostel there is a canteen where we can pay and eat. In every hostel there is a tv room, reading room, juice centre, music room, stationary shop. There are 11 messes and we can subscribe to any of these messes at end of month.There are 2 menu. For 1st menu 73 rupees and for 2nd 93 rupees. Hostel and rooms are allocated to students and they are afford. I live in hostel in campus.
Admission
Eligibility of the course is to clear JEE advanced with good ranks according to categories. Every year different iits conduct papers of jee advanced and application forms are released on jee advanced official websites. Generally, jee advanced paper held in June. And we can get much benefit by reservation. But I was not having any reservation. Jee advanced can be considered as the toughest exam in India. And there are no such improvements are required in admission process.
