What Students Say
Likes
- I like the overall infrastructure of college and the fact that it is situated in Jaipur city.
- You get variety of students here from different backgrounds and interests, and there are really talented students to compete with.
- The curicullum is good and industry standard.
Dislikes
- I feel that there should be serious improvement in mess food and management.
- There are no good coding clubs, hence lack good mentors and I have to learn coding and explore this on my own.
- 75% attendance criteria becomes too much load if you don't the course.
Course Curriculum Overview
The latest curricullum is in accordance to NEP2022, for first year you have to study 4 subjects along with the common subjects( maths, basics engineering , english, economics, coding). The faculty here is quite qualifed but very few give efforts in teaching. Also there is 75% attendance policy but gets linient in after 2nd year. Two main exams are held midsems and endsem comprising 80% and internals are on basis of quizzes and asignments.
Internships Opportunities
Circuital branches are offered internships more than core branches. Their is flexibilty to take semester leave for interships. Those who don't get internships invest time on doing minor or major projects
Placement Experience
Placements are quite good. For circuital branches (cs, ai, ece ,ee) the average package is 13 -15 lpa. While for mechanical it 10 lpa.Coding culture is poor here. And a lot of students from mechanical and civil branches study for govt exams like ies, gate and upsc.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees increases every year for newly admitted students. The total btech for unreserved category might cost upto 10 -12 lakhs for 4 yrs. Fortunately, there are fee waivier for family income below 5 lakhs (60%) and income below 1lakh(100%) on tuition fees. Apart from these a lot of merit based and category based are available both govt and private.
Campus Life
Infrastructure is very good as compared to lot of other nits. The college is well equiped with sports facilities and many sports tournaments like MST, InterNIT, InterBranch etc. Two majors fests are held one technical -Sphinx and other cultural - Bitzschlag (Rajasthan's biggest college fest). And around the year minor fests like department day, youthfest, cultural events happen. Usually lectures are held in the VLTC (the asia's largest lecture theatre complex), Labs usually occur in departments and labs are well equiped. The clubs and society, here are unfortunately not so strong very few selected clubs are active during the year. Otherwise tech clubs are active before tech fest and cultural clubs before cultural fests. Also I feel that to be at good positions inside clubs and do some significant respectable work one needs to have good connections.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are decent, for first year you have to share a room with 2 others but luckily 2nd year onwards you get single rooms, so you can enjoy privacy. Hostels are decents ,old hostels will give you typical hostel vibes but new ones look more like apartments. Mess food is average and non veg is not available only eggs.
Admission
To enter the college need to clear JEE Mains and sit for JOSAA /CSAB counselling. The cutoff for my branch mechanical was around 23,000 (CRL) . Along with it you get 50% reservation if you have Rajasthan as home state.
