Pursuing dreams in MNIT

The course is great and computer science is sets a base to industry . There are subjects such as Data structures and algorithms, computer languages such that python and c are been taught . The college gives a good base to start with any field in which one wants expertise . But if a student depends only on college for learning the curriculum , that won't make you ready for industry and get you Jobs . The course is little outdated as curriculum is of 20 years earlier than the modern era . Also the first year has subjects of all the fields of engineering so it is not much relevant for cse students eg Chemistry . Also the main content is college has lots of courses in semester ie 14 courses which will not have students time for other activities.

Students in MNIT are eligible for placement from 6th semester . Various companies such as texas instruments, Dee shaw , Apple .Highest package these went for just over 1 CR . Average package of cse branch is 21 lakh and overall of college is 14 lakhs . Almost 80 % students gets places . My plans after degree is to pursue MBA or take a job in fintech sector .In recent years placement has decline due to recession and less recruitment of foreign companies.

The academic fees are around 1.8 lakh which includes 1.25 L tution fees and others include institute fees of around 45 000.There are lots of scholarship available in the college .One of the main thing include fee remmission.Students having income less than 1 lakh gets remmission of 1.25 lakh and those having income 1-5 lakh gets remmission of 80000 of year . Remmission is fee reduction. Also there are various scholarship according to some tests and income of the whole year . Also there is alumni scholarship for income less than 4.5 lakh .In the college , there is less culture of campus employment.There are very limited opportunities .Overall I have claimed remmission of 80000 which makes college affordable.

The college MNIT has its technical fest Sphinx . It a great fest where student showcases their work in technical field .Also various speakers such as founder of geeks for geeks and shark tank pitchers came to college . For fun with knowledge, there are pronites on all the 3 nights which includes Bollywood singers like mithoon and Mohammad Irfan .There is huge library with all the resources available and sitting capacity for students to study .All the courts and grounds are present for respective games in college and yearly sports fest is been held . Also , there are various clubs in college .I'm a part of Zine robotics club and enterpreneurship cell . In the clubs , people learn together and participate in various competitions on a national event . Also college has innovation centre where start up culture is promoted .

There are 14 hotelsin college which include 9 boys hostel and 5 girls hostel .1st yearites share room with 3 people and single room for 2nd year onwards .The new hostels are great with great infrastructure but the old hostels are not at all great .mess food is great for breakfast and lunch ( according to price ) but dinner is a problem . Not many varieties of vegetables available.Only rajma , chhole , potato and paneer is been provided. .

The admission process was on the basis of Jee mains examination. Seats were allotted as per josaa counselling.For computer science , 5500 rank were necessary and admission is based on merit. Application forms and fees information is readily available on their website of josaa. Jee mains come in one of the toughest examination of India with over 10 lakh people giving it. In admission process , list of colleges and fields needs to be filled by students and the best branch and college is allotted according to rank .Jee is highly competitive exam .
