A Detailed Review of MNIT Jaipur

While i was wondering about choosing which course to pursue in my career, the very first course which came to my mind was Computer Science as i am very passionate about the technologies and specifically programming. The course of Artificial Intelligence contains a wide variety of subjects including Computer Science, Mathematics and some subjects of communication. Due to this diversity of the curriculum, the students can learn the important skills and apply them in real-world. At MNIT Jaipur, each Semester is about 4 to 5 months. The examinations at MNIT Jaipur is divided into two parts i.e., Mid-Sem Examinations and End-Sem Examinations. The Mid-Sem is comprised of 30% marks, End-Sem is comprised of 50% marks and the rest 20% marks is for internals. The difficulty level of Mid-Sems are moderate but the End-Sems are tough though.

The companies which come to our campus includes Microsoft with an stipend of around 1-1.5 lakhs per month, DE shaw with stipend of about 1 lakh per month and various companies with stipends ranging from 50k to 1 lakh per month.

Students typically become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester of their undergraduate programs. On average, about 80-85% of eligible students secure job offers through campus placements. The remaining students often choose to pursue higher studies, entrepreneurship, or off-campus job opportunities. The highest package stood at 64 LPA in the field of software engineering and average package stood at 13 LPA. Various companies visit our campus during placements some of which includes, Amazon, Mirosoft, Apple, Airtel, L&T, DE Shaw and many others. My plans after completing my degree is campus placements.

The total fees for the complete 4- Year Btech programme is about 6.5 lakhs and 2.5 lakhs for hostel fees. There are various types of scholarships available for the students as per their income and category. For general and OBC students whose income is less than 1 lakh INR, the tution fee is 0, and for students whose income is more than 1 lakh but less than 5 lakhs, the tution fee reduces to 1/3 rd. For SC/ST students the tution fee is 0.

MNIT Jaipur hosts an annual cultural festival called "Blitzschlag" typically held in February. This festival celebrates diversity through music, dance, and various cultural performances. For tech enthusiasts, "Sphinx" is our annual technical festival held in November. It includes workshops, hackathons, tech talks by industry experts and even pronites. The institute library offers a vast collection of books, journals, and digital resources. Access to online databases such as JSTOR, IEEE Xplore, and more is available. The library's hours are extended into the evening, making it convenient for students to study and research. There are various clubs which are operational at MNIT Jaipur such as the Computer Science clubs, Robotics Club, Aeromodelling club, Dance and music societies, the drama society and much more. Overall, The campus life here is amazing.

The hostel rooms are well-furnished with essential amenities such as a bed, study table, chair, and wardrobe. Each room is equipped with a fan, lights, and charging points for electronics. Common areas are provided for socializing and studying, including lounges or common rooms. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hostel premises for students' convenience. Laundry facilities are often provided, either self-service or through a laundry service. The hostel provides meals in mess, usually catering to various dietary preferences. The quality of meals can vary but is generally satisfactory, with nutritious options. There may be feedback mechanisms in place for students to provide input on meal quality. To apply for hostel accommodation, students usually fill out a hostel registration form provided by the university. The form may require personal information, emergency contacts, and any specific preferences for roommates or room type.

The admission was done through JOSSA counselling and i have got MNIT Jaipur in the second round of JOSSA. The admission is done through JEE MAINS Rank. I am currently admitted in the course of BTech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering and as per the 2023 cutoff for admission in the course in which i am enrolled was about All India Rank(AIR) 6900 for General Category Students whose home state is Rajasthan and for other state candidates the cutoff was around AIR 6300 and the detailed cutoffs for each and every category is present in JOSSA's official website.
