Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum consists of 6 semesters in 3 years. In the first four semesters we have 8 papers ,2 papers of 2 core subjects ,2papers of hons and one language paper and also one ancillary. The compulsory language paper is hindi in 1st year and english in 2nd year. And in the 3rd year we will have 6 papers all of which are our hons paper.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure of BHU is very less compared to delhi university. It is almost 1800 for a normal seat per semester. And for the paid seat its some 10000 for an year. For the college hostel it costs around 5000 for the first year and less than 2000 for the second and the third year. The mess fees had to be paid monthly since its a private mess working in bhu hostels which is 100-125 rupees per day.
Campus Life
The bhu campus is the largest residential campus i n asia covering almost 1500 acres .The campus cleanliness is not that good but still it is a good campus which is student friendly. There are many clubs like the dance club which is taalasya , the music club "mousiquee" and debate clubs like TLD,Rhetorica etc and there are much more clubs also for the students.
Hostel Facilities
I stay in the Bhu hostel. The college hostels in bhu are known for its good food which charges almost 100-125 per day for girls and for boys its per meal 50 rupees. The bhu hostel is mostly preferred since its better in facilities and low cost compared to private hostels and pgs and also its safe for girls staying outside the campus.
Admission
The admission process to BHU was through an all india entrance examination conducted on online mode called CUET. The eligibility for cuet is above 60 percentage in plus two examination and for my course that is ba hons in economics, one should have opted mathematics as their core subject in their higher secondary. The exam's cut-off was almost 282 for economics honours in the first round out of 350 and i got selected when the first list was out .I competed through the general category without any reservation benefits. The whole process was literally very slow. I hope it would be fast in this year .The exam was alloted in three days based on the six subjects which I had preferred. Starting from may 21, 2023 the examination was completed only by june first week. For the results again it took nearly two months and then the allottment process was completed by september - october. And finally the classes began by november .The admission process ought to be made faster than last time.
