Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is blend of both theoretical concepts and practical application. For theoretical , the curriculum has computer science concepts, data structures etc. For practical, we had worked on various projects which helped us in applying our theoretical concepts to real world problems. Additionally, we had learnt various concepts related to industry trends like machine learning, data computing etc. In the course curriculum one thing which can be incorporated is some training on soft skills like communication, teamwork etc. Also, there can be some guest lectures or workshops from industry partners. Exams are conducted semester wise, and in each semester we had mid term and final term exams. We had 8 semester over 2 years. The exams were challenging but at the same time they ensured that we are correctly applying our theoretical concepts.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for the placement from 7th Semester onwards. Around 230+ recruiters visited the campus and around 1000+ offers were made by them. Highest package is around 58 lakh and average salary is around 13 lakh. And around 600+ students were successfully placed in the batch. Personally, my plans were to pursue a software development job in short term and become a team lead in long run.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fees is splitted over different semesters like and will be deposited at the beggining of every semester : 1. For 1st and 2nd semesters fee is around 1,23,000 Rs. 2. For 3rd and 4th semsters fee is around 1,35,000 Rs. 3. For 5th and 6th semsters fee is around 1,48,000 Rs. 4. For 7th and 8th semesters fee is around 1,63,000 Rs. BIT Mesra offers several scholarships - On the basis of AIR in JEE main exam for both General category and SC/ST students Also, there is a BIT G.P. Birla Scholarship Scheme. The average placement is around 9.4 lakh, with job roles in software devlopement and in analyst roles. Some of the companies are Cognizant, Amdocs and FICO
Campus Life
The camous life was very great. Annually there are 2 events were conducted one is Cultural fest and other is Technical Fest. Cultural fest name is Vibrations and Technical fest is TechVibes. The library has sufficient number of books from different authors and subjests which any student needs. Classrooms are equipped with modern technology and the college have different laboratories of Chemistry, Physics etc. For the sports , one annual fest Cavorts is conducted under which different events like Kho-Kho, Basketball, Cricket etc. were being played. Various clubs like Literary club, Cultural club, Sports club, Alumini Connect club provide opportunities for skill development and networking.
Admission
Eligibility of course is is having 75% aggregate in 12th class. Additionally, one should have a valid JEE Main score. Application form will be available on official website of the institute. Exam which is considered for the admission is JEE mains. The exam is conducted once in a year and the difficulty is moderate to hard depending on one's prepration. In the admission process, some weightage could have been allocated to extracuricular activities also.
Interview Experience
GD's are not conducted. PI's were conducted which had questions about Academic background, technical knowledge and extra curricular activities For the admission, JEE mains exam is being conducted. Prepration for it can include topics under subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. For it one can solve previous years paper and try mock tests
