is is the question on the mouths of many after the ranks are out. I was amongst them too. Personally, I preferred the college. Presently i am in IIT Delhi and yes not in computer science. The thing is in India cs jobs are the most reputed ones. But this isnt the case abroad. In foreign, each and every branch js equally preffered. Rather the highest paid job at this point of time is hat of the petrochemical engineers. But yes, If you have a lot of interest in a branch then go for it. But if u have no idea about which branch to choose and which will be better, I would suggest you to opt for good college. Like every coin has two faces, this also has pros and cons.

College selection is difficult choice as it shapes your career. If you chose the wrong college/branch it might hamper your future growth. Before choosing a college, prepare your mind at what specific field of engineering you want to study. If you are comfortable with any branch and just want the tag of IITs, NITs then focus on the college and not on the branch. But if you have inherent interest regarding a particular branch then don’t compromise on college. Also in most colleges there is option to change branch, So if you study hard enough in your 1st year of engineering, you can choose your favourite branch at your favourite college. All the best for your future career.
