Likes
- The main thing that attracted me was the campus. Campus had good structure, a good canteen, store, basketball court, football court etc
- I got a very good new friends that helped me overcome many obstacles with great support , love and care.
- Faculties were a lot supportive when I first came to this college which was a very big relief for me.
Dislikes
- Hostel fees were a lot more than I expected. In fact hostel rooms with airconditioner had yearly fees more than my yearly course fees.
- Attendance are sometimes marked absent even when I am present in the class. Sometimes teachers reduce to provide attendance if some work is not done even if I am present in the class.
- Parking is provided with a great deal of parking fee but the parking lot is not worth it.
Course Curriculum Overview
The classes were on online mode for a few weeks as it was the pandemic period. As the teachers were supportive and experienced I didn't feel a lot of pressure as I was going to study in a college that is not in my native. When the classes began on offline mode I was happy seeing and knowing my campus ,my teachers and my friends who I was going to spend my next 4 years and the rest of my years through the beautiful memories I am going to have with. Classes were well taken. All the faculties made the lessons more and more easy to learn. And now I am happy to say I am not the same person I was 3 years ago, I have become more mature and thoughtful, I have studied a lot in and outside of my academics. I am really thankful to my college for the person who I became and grown into within the span of 3 years.
Fees and Financial Aid
Entrance to HITS Chennai can be taken through a scholarship exam HITSEEE. It provides a scholarship wich almost reduced 1 lakh rupees from my yearly fees. HITS Chennai receives a good amount of placements every year. Student loans are also provided for students with low financial background. It is informed that the placement training is about to begin for us.
Campus Life
I was not a very well socially active person when I came to Hindustan. When I came out of my safe zone or bubble and came to this university which is very far away from my native obviously I was scared. But I was given a well reception by my college, faculties, and my new friends. I went through a lot of new experiences and I learned a lot from those. I became a lot more socially active. I am happy to say I am a more mature person now. Books are there in the library.
Admission
My friend referred me to apply for Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science. I applied for the entrance exam HITSEEE from HITS official site. As it was the pandemic period at that time the entrance exam was conducted on online mode. I received a satisfactory rank in the examination and got the admission and a scholarship for course fees. I was called in for certificate verification and I went through a detailed process for verification and received my books.
