Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is well designed in case of practicals but a little outdated for the theory classes though you will get an ample amount of knowledge and clear all the basics, it is not an interview-ready, and have to hustle a bit on your side to prosper.
Internships Opportunities
Companies come for in-campus internships during the third year of college and some of them offer a PPO. There are comparatively more companies for Non-Core software jobs than core jobs. Many of the students get on-campus internships others apply for off-campus.
Placement Experience
Almost 100% of the students who sit for the placements get placed by the end. Some students go for higher studies or appear in civil services examinations and gate-like examinations. Also, companies come for on-campus internships from 3rd year.
Fees and Financial Aid
The course fees is almost 2 lakhs per year including all tuition, hostel, and mess for non-reserved and non-EWS students. It decreases according to reservation are there, government scholarships are available in the college.
Campus Life
Nit Rourkela has a campus of almost 800 acres, so you can actually lost in it, also full of big trees and almost a forest environment. it has the largest number of clubs from any college in the country.
Hostel Facilities
Boys have accommodation of 2 per room from 1st years also girls hostel facilities are improving as new hostels are being constructed. There are also day scholars in our campus. There are total 9 hostels (2 for Girls,6 for boys and 1 for married)
Admission
For admission to my college, I took the examination of JEE Main. Scored a percentile of 98%ile.After jee mains we have to apply for JOSAA counseling where generally there are 7 rounds and you get college according to the priority order you have set. I got NIT Rourkela in the second round. You can also apply for CSAB for further special rounds.
