Course Curriculum Overview
Architecture in Jamia Millia Islamia holds 7th rank all over India. The Staff is very helping and kind and very flexible according to you. in these 3 yeas, i have learned way too much to even imagine. talking about the practical learning.I think architecture is all about the practical stuff. it is way out of books. Architecture is to explore and learn through our surroundings. My perspective of looking at things or observing them has completely changed since i got into this field.
Internships Opportunities
No, they did not provide any internship but there is a requirement of interning for 6 months at the end of the course which is yet to come
Placement Experience
There is no placement cell for the course of Architecture.
College Events
The major events are the talimi mela which is the foundation day of the university. it is a 2-3 day event in which one section goes for the cultural events and the other portion includes stalls of various departments selling or offering stuff
Fee Structure And Facilities
There are 2 batches for architecture. the morning batch pays a lot less than the evening which is 8000 rupees, while evening batch pays 56000 rupees for the same. Also, being an NRI, i pay 2 lakh rupees annually which is the highest fees amount so far in this university.
Fees and Financial Aid
yes. Jamia does provide scholarships and i know my classmates who have got a maximum of 30000 rupees amount. No, i am exempted for filling up a scholarship form being an NRI No, it doesn't help us in getting loans.
Hostel Facilities
Yes, I live in a hostel and also for getting into the hostel we are scheduled for an interview and the list comes out after a certain period of time. if the luck is in your favor, you get the hostel and if it's not, then you find a nearby PG.There are a large no.of PGs for girls especially and are also safe but the quality of living is definitely not great. So living in a hostel is definitely a huge deal. Also, various facilities in the hostel are provided like the washing machines, beauty parlors, play grounds. the hostel rooms are sharing with 3 seater beds with separate wardrobes and study table and chair. The rooms are not really big but big enough for our day to day activities. Hostel do not accept PGs unless you are from the college and it's the beginning of the session till the hostel list comes out. hostel fees is quite affordable and we pay nearly 35000 per year individually which includes the mess as well. The hostel food here is way better than the general hostel food. it has got right amount of spices but there are a few dishes which you just don't feel like eating as it generally happens in the hostel but there is always maggi to the rescue. Also, the same constant menu of the hostel food for years has made our lunch and dinner quite boring. They do try to add different food variety occasionally which is sometimes okay or sometimes good but it tends to get terminated in sometime
Alumni/Alumna
Not really. the college did not really provide that platform to interact unless you want to do it yourself by reaching out to the alumni itself through some contact on your own.
