JMI B.Arch FAQs

Ques. Is NATA the only entrance exam accepted for B.Arch admission at JMI?

Ans. Yes, JMI accepts only NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) scores for admission to the B.Arch programme. JEE Main Paper 2 (B.Arch) is not accepted at JMI for architecture admissions. Candidates must have a valid NATA 2026 score to be considered.

Ans. The Regular B.Arch has 40 seats and is heavily subsidised with an annual tuition fee of Rs. 19,625. The Self-Financed B.Arch also has 40 seats but charges Rs. 88,265 per year. Admission to both is based on NATA score and JMI merit list, but separate merit lists are prepared for each category.

Ques. Does JMI have a hostel facility for B.Arch students?

Ques. Can I apply for B.Arch at JMI after the general last date if I haven't appeared for NATA yet?

Ans. Yes. For NATA-based programmes like B.Arch, JMI keeps the application window open until 10 days after the last NATA test scheduled in June 2026. This means students who appear in later NATA sessions (up to June 13, 2026) can still apply. However, it is advisable to apply early and appear for NATA as soon as possible.

Ques. What career opportunities are available after completing B.Arch from JMI?

Ans. Graduates of JMI's B.Arch programme can pursue careers as licensed architects (after registering with the Council of Architecture), urban planners, interior designers, project managers, and design consultants. JMI's location in New Delhi provides excellent networking and internship opportunities with top firms and heritage conservation projects. Graduates can also pursue M.Arch or other postgraduate programmes in India and abroad.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The Fee structure is perfect at Jamia when it comes to Architecture. So each year is divided into two classes Day and SFS. The only difference between these two sections is basically the fee structure. The fees for the Day batch are around 15k per year and for the SFS batch is around 85k per year. Architecture is a field of struggle the biggest struggle we face after graduation is basically financial problems. We get really low-paid internshipss ranging from 5-15k per month. After Graduation, we are considered to be paid very low and after years of hard work, we become senior architects.
