Remarks
Hats off to the management for making sure we work hard and party harder and bringing in a sense of integrity into our daily lives!
Entrance Preview
I ended up coming to this college because it is away from home and I can become more independent and acquire skills that I have not been put to test while it is closer to home so I can still see my family frequently and do not feel disconnected to a homely environment. Also, the college offers a great curriculum and is India's first Green B-School and focuses on an all-round development for its students. Being amidst nature gives me the time and means to introspect and ponder upon how small we are in the larger scheme of things and what it takes to become a Global CEO.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is set to make you an entrepreneur where a lot of your skill-sets are challenged and improved upon. There is definitely a lot of practical learning through real-world situations being applied to what we learn in class and how they would be different if what we learned did not exist. Public-speaking is a core part of the curriculum and it enhances the way you express yourself among the mass crowds and how well you can explain your point of view. It also involves some theoretical knowledge in order to be able to score some marks while you're learning the aspects of when, what, why and who!
Internships Opportunities
Being a first-year student on campus I would not be the best person to provide this information but as far as the seniors are concerned I have heard great things about the opportunities that are provided by the college. They find the right fit for you and encourage you to get internships which are more challenging so you can make the most out of your time and add some skills to your resume and life.
Placement Experience
The school is endorsed by 60 CEO's and that says it all! The number of job opportunities you can acquire here are limitless at this prestigious institution-- They have the best of the best coming here to give you a better job opportunity that was earlier unthinkable.
College Events
The very first event that we had on campus was the "Fresher's Night" which was a fun event with a talent parade, a lit dancefloor and some food provided on campus for the folks who were having a rather fun night. It was a great way to network and mingle with other uni-mates other than your batch. We recently celebrated a better event than the first one, THE OCTAVE NIGHT because our director believes that we should "WORK HARD BUT PARTY HARDER."
Fee Structure And Facilities
This is something that you would have to decide and the fee-structure varies with different programs. On a general note, the Return on Investment is great as per my expectations but for some families, you might need to avail a scholarship or a loan. Trust me, it's worth it!
Fees and Financial Aid
The college empowers hard-working students and the students who want a quality education but cannot afford it right now. They give out very generous scholarships to quite some candidates. If you are looking for a study-oriented place, this is the best fit, there are hardly any worldly distractions to choose from. The college is more like a temple of learning and studious and hard-working student here is considered more fashionable than Armani suit.
Campus Life
The college definitely has a higher male ratio, for e.g. in our batch there are 24 guys in comparison to a mere 6 girls. There are a lot of extracurricular activities to choose from on campus. Reiterating the fact that the college believes in an all-round development of its students, we have a lot of sports to choose from ranging from mainstream sports such as basketball, football, and cricket to indoor sports such as pool, table tennis, and carrom. We have a UBS Marathon and we also have occasional tournaments in all of the sports so you sport freaks out there should definitely visit the campus and check the amenities provided by the institution.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are very limited- the wifi is an only plus but they have blocked many websites such as Netflix, etc. There might be 2-minute power cutoffs off and on. On the overall, the dorm is average but manageable. The mess food is very average but only decent enough to fill your stomach, if you are looking for varied tastes, that is not a place of worship. They do occasionally make some delicious food though but the menu is very repetitive and consists of only Indian food.
Alumni/Alumna
The senior students have definitely been more of a boon than a bane which is an unlikely thing you would hear from a freshman in an Indian college. The students have been very helpful in all aspects, be it showing you around campus to mentoring you in different activities such as academics, sports. Neither have they made me feel left out nor have they treated me as an outsider in the first year. They have welcomed me to UBS Family with open arms. This one goes out to you Roger!
Exam Structure
Yet, again I am an early bloomer in the college and I would not be the best candidate to answer this question to the mark. All I know is, some subjects do not have examinations but require a research paper instead, and that all the corrections are done by 4 different examiners so that you always have the benefit of the doubt and an unbiased number on your scorecard.
Admission
They required a detailed score report and a counsellor was constantly working with my parents and updating them on the all the required documents needed in order to be eligible for admission. They also had me write a Statement of Purpose and get two Letters of Recommendation. My SAT scores were needed in addition to the already submitted documents in order to be eligible to be enrolled in this esteemed university
