It's one of the best colleges in Bengaluru and the top 1 under PGCET. Good infrastructure, experienced and friendly faculties, a deemed university (hence updated syllabi) and also located in the heart of the city and easy to commute from any place. Had got an opportunity in other good colleges also (as my PGCET rank was 60) but chose this as there was not much excess fee charged by the college other than the CET fee.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum has been designed very well by a renowned set of experienced faculties and the trustees in the college. The best thing of the College is that they update the syllabus every year and keep adding new subjects and certifications in the course curriculum. Recently they have come up with new specializations to bridge the gap between the college and industry requirement.
Internships Opportunities
College provides internship in association with Ministry of Human Resource Development of Govt of India. However there's no stipend provided for this but students are free to choose their internship company on their own too and the college will provide a Letter of Recommendation.
Placement Experience
Placements are best for BE, M.Tech, and MCA. However for MBA almost all of them get placed but the average package is around 4.5Lpa - 6Lpa as it comes under Tier II colleges if you consider nationally. But when compared with the colleges in Bangalore this college stands top in the placements.
College Events
There are a huge number of events conducted in the college, and department wise as well and most of them are open for inter-college students as well. PES is known for their events and clubs they have in the campus which includes Cultural, Sports, Ethnic, conferences (National & International) and the students get to participate as well as volunteer and organize most of the events. PES's flagship event is it's cultural fest ATMATRISHA and it's known nationally. And management is also supportive, any new ideas from the students.
Fee Structure And Facilities
As I got admission through PGCET, the fee is very cheap and feasible for all. And it's the cheapest amongst all the tier II colleges pan India if we consider the return on investment and for the infrastructure they provide. Howevernationalized it's quite expensive for those who gets admitted through all other modes like PESSAT, MAT or GMAT.
Fees and Financial Aid
Both nationalized and Pvt banks provide educational loan for the fee and up to 80% can be availed. And also there's a special scholarship provided by the management of 15% fee waiver for the top scorers in each sem who scores more than 70%.
Campus Life
A right place for people who enjoys social activities and loves to have fun along with the studies. The gender ratio is almost equal in case of MBA and when compared to the entire campus of BE, M.Tech, MCA, and all other courses girls have an upper hand in the gender ratio. Students hail from all over the country and you can find a diversified crowd in the campus. Extra curricular activities are open for all the students irrespective of their departments like annual sports meet, and other technical clubs like Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Entrepreneurial Cell, Cell, Formula-1 club, Embedded systems club, Management Club, IoT club, Satellite club etc. They also have some unique clubs and activities such as Samarpana Club for Social causes and which builds up the patriotism in the students and also have a separate Rotaract Club of the college. There's no
Hostel Facilities
Ph.D. is too good in terms of both hygiene and the quality of food. But it's quite expensive when compared to the other colleges in the locality. Boy's hostel is inside the campus itself strengths girl's hostel is a bit far from the curricula but transportation is provide, however.
Alumni/Alumna
There'll be an Alumni Meet once in a year and there are CXO events which happens every week where alumni who are successful in their career will also address the current students.
Exam Structure
There are 4 Semesters in MBA just like all other colleges where first, second and third semesters will have six papers each for 24 credits in each sem and an internship which carries 8 credits and a project in 4th sem for 10 credits. It follows a CGPA system for computing results.
Admission
The college takes application from various entrance modes viz, Karnataka-PGCET, MAT, NMAT, GMAT and PESSAT. I got my admission through PGCET as it's the cheapest amongst all other entries. First one should write PGCET exam conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority and the syllabus consists of general aptitude, English and general awareness included in a single paper of 100 marks consisting of 60 questions. Once the results are out we have to give online counselling which is very transparent and foolproof. Generally PES has a cut-off of rank 90-100. Later you have to pay the fee and block your seat through online itself.
Faculty
Faculty of the college is one of the strengths of the management where the average age of the faculty here is around 40 and most of them are Ph.D. holders or from the industry background. They are supportive in both curricula as well as non-curriculum activities. And most of all, they are available for students at most of the time.
