I took the WBJEE exam and ranked 281 in the exam. Jadavpur University is a 100 year old institution and ranked among the top 10 engineering colleges in India. It is a institute of National Importance and is widely recognised as the best engineering college of Eastern India providing not just quality education but quality placements and excellent environment to learn.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is well tested and students from this institution regularly rank among the top in Graduate Aptitude for Enginnering exam and hold good positions in corporates. Students in EE can opt for a variety of electives like Signals and Systems, Control Systems, High voltage engineering, Power Systems, Illumination engineering among others.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are available for approximately 25 percent of the students, which is arranged by the college. Rest of the students have to arrange their own, but the college provides assistance. Usually stipends are not in excess of Rs.25000. I did internship at NTPC Ltd. on my own endeavor.
Placement Experience
Mostly the engineering batches record 100 percent placements, with a good mix of core engineering companies. Less than 10 percent opt of IT companies. Major recruiters include Indian Oil, BPCL, ONGC, SAIL, Coal India Ltd., Adobe, CESC, Vedanta etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Jadavpur University is probably the cheapest engineering college in India, where a student completes his or her engineering degree in less than Rs.10000.
Fees and Financial Aid
Usually you would not need a loan for your educational expenses. However, scholarships are available for meritorious students.
