SRMIST: worth or not

I had a passion for cars and automobile so I chose automobile engineering. Curriculum is planned in a good but slow order. What subject that are taught in 3rd year should be taught in second year itself. For the course curriculum hands on knowledge and practical knowledge should be increased. Total of 4 exams are conducted including main university exam. 3 class test after every month is conducted and the marks are added in internal evaluation.

From 6th semester one can sit on placement. Several companies visit depending on the market. Highest package offered would be around 45 lakhs and average package is around 6-7 lakhs. I have planned for placement after my degree.

Tution fees is increased after change in the curriculum that is in connection with governing body of universities in india. Scholarships are available based on various parameters. Complete cost of education itself is 10 lakhs for 4 years. Living expenditure is a different component and may range from 125000 to 250000 according to affordability of individual. Jobs and placement start in 6th semester. Placement volume and packages offered changes from time to time according to the market and recession.

AARUSH and MILAN are the 2 fests that take place in a single year. Both of these fest happen at different time of year. College fests are really good to experience. 4 floor library is situated in university building with several books. Different courses offer different tech facilities. Over all facilities available are really good. Sports is also a major area of participation by college itself. Different clubs are run by student including some faculties as well.

Hostel experience is good. Facilities provided are above average. Food services and menu varies from hostel to hostel. Overall food is above average but can be good sometimes. Wifi, water, electricity, wardrobe, bed, table are basic facilities provided. Ac room is optional and is expensive. Washroom both common and attached are available based on availability. Registration process for hostel works on first come first serve basis. One has to be instant while booking hostels as hostel fill out in very little time. Non ac hostels are affordable but Ac hostel are expensive.

There was an entrance exam to get into college. Exam was based on physics, chemistry and maths like JEE. Course eligibility was based on the marks scored in SRMJEE. Application forms available on college website . Total of 3 rounds of examination conducted. 3 phases of exam are conducted and seats for the respective course is alloted. Areas of improvement would be clear the basic concepts of class 11th and 12th for physics, chemistry and maths. Also mental and logical ability.
