My college in a glance

The course include subjects like immunology, clinical biochemistry, metabolism, medical microbiology, cell biology, genetics which helps to get a career in the medical field and more job options are available such as lab assistant, food inspector, food quality checker. After getting a PG and Phd in the subject one can opt to become a lecturer. More options are available for job in the medical sector. More subjects should be included which will give practical skills to the students. More internship opportunities should be given to the students so that they are in a ready to work stage. The exams are fair and easy enough if the students prepare well according to the syllabus

College provides internship opportunity for this course in the 5th semester. It was provided by Centre for research on molecular and applied science at valiyavila, Thiruvananthapuram. Fees of 5000 is charged from the students. Subject of the project is biofilm formation.The internship was conducted for 15 days. After the internship we got an idea about the biofilm formation which will be helpful in the future. They trained the students with maximum efforts. We came to know about various equipments related to research field

The tuition fees has not increased in a higher rate in the recent years. The course has an yearly fees of 2500 for three years including the tuition fees and other charges. Hostels are available for women which will cost 50000 per year (3500 per month) . There are various scholarships available for the students like sammunathi scholarship, e grants, minority scholarship. Besides this several other scholarships like alumni scholarship, pta scholarship are also provided by the college.

There are various annual and technical festivals conducted by the college such as tech fest, college day, and department-wise programs arranged by the English and media studies, and computer science departments. Besides this, there are various celebrations like Onam, Christmas, Holi etc. The college has a library which provides the students with question papers from previous years, journals, subject books which are helpful for exams, story books, and novels. The classrooms are secured with CCTV cameras and a projector is also available. There are various sports like tennis, badminton, throwball, cricket, football. The college has a union which addresses the student's problems and needs which changes every year and is selected through an election. There are various clubs like electoral club and literary club. There are portals which has all the details of the students like internal marks, attendance which can be accessed by the students.

All the equipped with fan, almirah, bookshelf, bed, table, chair and all the needed facilities which will help the students for studying. The menu for meals is decided by the students itself and so they can choose what they want which can be changed monthly. Students who are in need of hostels should be informed at the time of admission and after filling out the necessary forms and remitting a fee of less than 5000 one can get admission to the hostel. After this, a monthly fee of around 3500 is charged approximately according to the expenses. The women's hostel is inside the college campus itself and the college does not provide a mens hostel but PG is available for both boys and girls near the college itself

Anyone who have completed higher secondary education with biology science as the main subject can opt for this course. The application form and application date for the course will be published in the website at the time of admission. It will be also notified in the newspaper. Reservation are available for eligible candidates such as SC, ST and also for students in sports quota. The exams are conducted 1 month after the completion of the semester. Students get enough time to prepare for the exams. The admission process should be fair enough to consider more students for the admission and as the course is having fees and the student with weaker economic background can also opt for this
