The course curriculum for BCA in st philomenas college is updated and really good. It is constantly getting updated with the advent of new technologies. The curriculum will prepare the students for real world applications

Class Size: 150Course Fees: INR 220000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fee of BcA in the college comes around 2,20,000 inr for non karnataka students. For karnataka students the fee is less by around 15,000 each year. So it comes down to around 45,000 less that of the total fee

Campus Life

The college has decent facilities and infrastructure which are needed for a student. It has labs, libraries with good infrastructure. But the college is not really good when it comes to fests and clubs

The admission process was simple. First we have to register in the uucms portal which is a centralised platform for seeking admission in any college in karnataka. Followed by registering in the college website, you can complete the admission process

I would like to rate the course 7 out of 10. Because as these is a distance learning many difficulties occur. I am doing a MBA in ksou after my graduation in b. Com. As ksou comes under UGT it is more helpful for the job seeker. As per my knowledge the faculty should conduct a more classes may be through online so that the working people can attend the classes from wherever they want. There are many distance learning courses in ksou academic platform but they are not handling in a accuracy. They take a lot of time to announce a results, even to conduct a exams they take a lot of time. The question paper are sometimes difficult and the question will be from out of syllabus which will be difficult to attend. Distance learning course is difficult to manage

They provide good curriculum and better syllubus which covers most of the geology and oceanography topics especially physical and chemical oceanography, climatology, hydro geology and other topics but practically they seems little back they doesn't provide new instruments for surveying and oceanography they still following old techniques which is not relevantly used in this time

Placement Experience:

From 7th to 8th semester students become eligible for campus placement and various types big hotel brands, airlines, cruiselines and big companies visit to recruit or give placements to students and average offers are made around 600000 lakhs per annum. Collage provides 100% placement to students and we go for intership twice, once in 3rd semester and second in 8th semester. we can choose whereever we want to do our intership even we can apply for abroad interships. After I complete my degree I am planning to get a job in any international brand or cruiselines then after 2-3 years of experience I will do complete my masters then I will settle down with a nice job in India.

I had applied to st Joseph's college of Commerce in mysore. I did not get rejected from that college and the fees is same as it is in st philomena's that is 45000 per year including all other expenses. I did not go there as they did not provide acca with bcom they had only cma and ca along with bcom. The admission process in my college is quite simple and easy they guide with every step. They take in all students who has around 50% marks in puc and they give cut offs if someone score more than 75% in the second puc examination...Read More

Great college experience

I haven't applied to many colleges in Kerala or outside. My parents decided to choose this college considering its reputation as a good college. Compared to other colleges I believe this college is mostly suitable for a study-based environment, suitable for anyone looking for further studies. So as a person looking for studies mainly my choice was this college. For a person who needs placement after a bachelor's I don't think this is a better fit, because the placement opportunities are limited to some selected courses here.
