Course Curriculum Overview
I am a student of the ECE department but in 1st year it's all the same. We have some subjects like entrepreneurship and foreign language which would help us a lot in the future. The college treats students like school students we have morning prayer and the entry and exit times are fixed every day.75% attendance is maintained strictly and there are 2 mid-sem and 1 end-sem exam each semester.
Internships Opportunities
The internship is provided by the college at the end of 2nd year to companies like TCS COGNIZANT WIPRO etc. mainly for software-related roles. The college has criteria for each student to have their patent project by the end of 4th year
Placement Experience
Campus placement is more or less good in the college with the students placed is almost close to 100% many students apply for higher studies and the college will help financially if any student qualifies GATE exam. ORACLE provides the highest package at IEM every year close to 20LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is quite high here at IEM. A total of approximately 8 lakhs in the fee structure here.There are various scholarships available that will be mentioned by the college itself during addmission. The college has its own IEDC lab where students make their own hardware and software projects with the help of proper guidance and funding from college
Campus Life
Campus life is not quite good as it has a reletively small campus. The college hosts 2 fests the Tech Fest known as INNOVATION and the cultural fest known as IEMPACT. The library of the college is open 24/7 for the students with a huge range of books and students can also stay at college the night for making projects the faculties are quite helpful here.We have a dedicated sports class every week.
Admission
To get admission to IEM Kolkata we have to take the IEMJEE exam or WBJEE. It's easier to get admission with IEMJEE rank as very few students know about the exam till now. From the month of April, the exams start and there will be a minimum of 3 attempts. The application fee is free and the application for the April attempt has already started
