- It has the one the largest campus of the country. Campus is very beautiful and cleanlinees is strictly maintained
- Faculties are good and very much qualified. Job opportunities in much course are very widespread. Placements are very good.
- College fests are one of the best things of this college. Infrastructure of buidlings is also very good.
Dislikes
- Class schedule is very tight, and number of class per week should be reduced.
- Faculty's main motive is to complete the course. They don't care whether every student is understanding or not.
- Recently mess fee was increased by 12000 rupees. Students protested against this decision, but college didn't listen to them.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course and subjects, that are taught are very much relevant. Btech is very much progressive, and there is a wider range of job opportunities in this course. After studying this course for 4 years(doing all the projects and practicals) a students becomes capable of dealing real-world problems and applications. Firstlt number of class per week should be reduced to reduce the pressure from students. Teacher should themselves write instead of just reading ppt.
Placement Experience
Placements of my college are very good. Students become eligilbe for placements after 3rd year. Microsoft, intel, amazon, oracle, barclays and many other companies visited and made many offers. Amazon took 12 students with 50 lpa package. Mircosoft took 4 students with 30 lpa package.Oracle provided highest package of 27lpa and average 13 lpa. Placemets percentage was 95% last year. I am planning to get a job in software field after gutting the degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution fees is currently 62000 rupees per semester. It is increasing year by year by approximately 5000 rupees. The complete cost of education is 817000 rupees. Various typea of scholarships and financial aids are available. Reliance foundation scholarship is a prominent scholarship. Also, for those students whose family income is between 1-5 lakh rupees, tution fee is one third of original tuition fee. And those whose famioy income is less tha 1 lakh rupees, tution fee is completely exempted. I have worked as volunteer in many college fests, i was awarded with certificates.
Campus Life
College fest is commenced once in two months. Name - innovision - tech fest Nitrutsav - anime fest COSMO - cultural fest Vriddhi - sports fest Nit rourkela has one of largest library of the country, Biju Patnaik Central Library with collection of over 1 lakh books. Books are accessible to all college students. Nit rourkela provides a lot of opportunities in sports and extra-curricular files. There are several sports and cultural clubs, whose member participate in various contests and events within college and go to contest in other colleges also. In classroom, the teacher teaches us on LED screen, and there are 2 projector also so that a class of more than 100 students can clearly see whatever teacher is writing. Being a member of clubs, helps student in developing team spirit and leadership skills.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel rooms are good. There are 2 beds, 2 tables and 1 fan in room. Rooms are cleaned once in 3 days by hostel staff. Mess provides a breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. Meal quality is good. Fruits and tea/coffee is provided during breakfast and dinner. There is a fixed menu of a week with special items during festivals. Hostel fee is 6000 rupees per semester and mess fees is 17000 per semester.
Admission
To be eligible for this course for this course and college you must qualified jee mains with a good score. For my branch, you must've secured a rank of 16000 in jee mains. I didn't got any reservation benefits. You can apply for admission in college through jossa councelling process. Admission process was very lengthy and took almost two months. The exam is tough and commences two time in year, January and april.
