- Faculty , especially the electronics departments
- Dean and administration. The Overall administration is very poor and do not coordinate with each other department.
- Hostel and mess facilities. The fees are high but the overall quality is not good.
Course Curriculum Overview
Doing Btech not just prepared you for the Job but also for the real world therefore I choose engineering. The curriculum is old and it's neither very relevant not too outdated . It needs improvement in accept of syllabus and teaching methods. The syllabus that we are taught is outdated and need modernization. As the real world is constantly changing . The exams are conducted 4 times in a semester. Quiz 1 , mid semester exam , Quiz 2 , End semester exams.
Placement Experience
Students get eligible for placements in in their 6th semester ending.. There are many companies that come to BIT Mesra. Some of them are Qualcomm, Intel , Nvidia Etc . Highest offer till date made is around 1 cr. Generally 80 percent of students get placed per year. I plan to do GATE exam after Btech
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution fee and overall fee generally decreases per semester. Yes there are other fees that do experience a fluctuation per semester like in the case of hostel and hostel mess fees. The complete cost of education is per semester is around 180000 to 200000 rs. There are not much scholarship available , one is for the s minority students. And other is the GP Birla scholarship which is given to merit students only. Campus employment are available is adequate amount here . There are clubs etc. but there is no actual job here for students studying that gives then stipend or Salary.
Campus Life
The ar emainly two main fests held : Bitotsav and Pantheon . These are Cultural and technical fest respectively. Other than that there are small functions and DJ nights held every month's or so. Bitotsav generally happens inthe month of March. And pantheon generally happens in the month of November. The classrooms are filled with smart boards and we even have Projectectors . Sports aspect of BIT Mesra is really good as we have the sports complex which holds majority of sports you knew till now. Then we have the cricket oval.Other than that every year we have the Annual Sports Meet . There are multiple clubs in here and you can choose whichever sooths your interest. Some of the Major clubs are: Dhwani(Music club) , Ehsaas( Drama club) etc. These Facilities heavely impact the students life as the candidate explore themselves and along with their course.
Hostel Facilities
The Hostel rooms are small . There consists of wifi , fan light , table chair and two beds. As the rooms will be sharing and two people will share the rooms. Meal quality is ok but sometimes especially in moonson the quality degarates astonishingly . The menu are the responsibility of students as the gets to decide the menu after talking with the warden.
Admission
The admission process started with giving jee mains exam which is held each year by Nta national testing agency. Then To be eligible for the course you will need to have physics chemistry and maths in class 12th. And you'll require to clear the jee main exam and have a percentile of at least 94 if you belong to the general quota.To apply for this college you'll have to select it in choice filling in JOSSA which is a body responsible for alloting Government and GFTI colleges to students . JEE mains is held two times a year once in January and other in April. It is considered one of the toughest exams in India.
