Course Curriculum Overview
I always wanted to get into merchant navy and for that Tolani maritime institute is the best college to do it. Well being in this course brings discipline into our lives and teaches us how to live independently. Well there could be a reduction in the syllabus to make it easier for the students to study for the exams. There are 2 class tests followed by a semester exam which is moderate in difficulty if prepared well.
Internships Opportunities
The different companies that have come are NYK, MSC shipping, wallem, EPS, Goodwood are some of the companies that have come here. They have offered from 25000-50000 for cadet ship. Cadet ship is basically the sailing for 6 months with the company.
Placement Experience
The students are eligible for college placements from the first year. The companies that have visited are NYK and wallem and they have offered from 25000-35000. The average package is from 25000-50000. In tolani maritime institute there is 100% placement. After getting my degree I'll be going for sailing with my company for cadet ship.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are hikes in fees frequently because a large group of students want to join merchant navy as it is very trending now. The complete course will cost you about 2380000. There are scholarships given to students who do well in the semester exams and the top 40 students are given scolarship money which will be deducted from their account.
Campus Life
The major event here is horizon which happens every year on the month of November. There are different kinds of books from all genres in the library for the students to read from. All our classrooms are fully air conditioned. There are a wide variety of sports that could be played here because of the availability of such amenities. There are a number of clubs from students welfare club to all kinds of sports clubs are present at TMI
Hostel Facilities
We have all the necessary facilities in the hostels to live peacefully. The meals in the hostel have a wide variety of selection and are rotated with new meals on a daily basis. The registration process for hostels is very easy because it is included in the fees and the hostels are pretty affordable.
Admission
The eligibility criteria is that you need to have 60% aggregate PCM in your board exams along with that you should have a good rank in your IMUCET that is it should be below 4000 to get into TMI. All the application form can be found in www.tmi.tolani.edu. There are Reservations for people who belong to SC, ST or OBC. There are 3 different exams along with interviews and they are moderate in difficulty. The process could be made faster by filtering out the students based on the performance in the interview.
