Likes
- Night life is the best here. You can hang out with anyone anywhere.
- There are security guards all over. So you dont feel scared to move anywhere anytime in the campus because they are always there to help you if you need it.
- Seniors are way too friendly without any fear of ragging. They serve as close brothers and sisters who can guide you through all your ups and downs. You can ask every type of doubts to them and they are there to help you with real life experiences.
Dislikes
- The food served in the mess alongwith the canteens is definitely not up to the mark.
- Everyone have to use bicycles in the campus and access to scooties is not allowed unless they are localites.
- There are no sitting places along the roads so that if people get tired they can wait there.
Course Curriculum Overview
Being a student of the Civil Engineering Department, I would find making structures more relevant and studying about new technologies that can ease the structures building process as well as that can minimize the risks that we undergo during constructions as well as providing better number of years of gaurantee.
Internships Opportunities
My college do provide internship opportunities. The 4th year students go out for 6 months internship whereas the 2nd-3rd year ones go out for the 3 months internship program that they achieve with the help of various skills. Based on the capabilities of the students, they can get hired for the paid internships as well as foe the unpaid ones.
Placement Experience
Talking about this, various branches offer various packages to the students depending on the skills that the student possess. Some students may have a good cgpa that can boosts their resumies and may help to get better job opportunities wherein the packages are considered as good.
Fees and Financial Aid
My college do provide scholarship opportunities so that people from all over the world can have an access to the course without failure. Also, being a general category student I have to pay the course fee as an average of 8.5 lakh to 9 lakh. Also, depending on the capabilities of the student he/she can start various startups so that they can get self employed and earn accordingly.
Campus Life
Speaking to this, My campus is considered as the largest in terms of acres in all the NITs. But when you live here repeatedly then you dont find it as big as others do. We have lot many canteens that provide varieties of food items along with a dispensary and coed mess. It has 3 girls hostels alongwith a large no. of boys hostels in which girls do have an access to it.
Hostel Facilities
I have been provided with a hostel named BF i.e. Bachleor's Flat. A flat in it consists of 2 rooms, 1 kitchen, 1 washroom, 1 dining hall and a Tv room. It has a mess wherein the food comes from another hostel i.e. KMS (Kiran Majumdar Shaw). A watchman is always present near the gate to look for the IN-OUT timings of the girls and to monitor the safety of the hostel.
Admission
I was admitted in the National Institute Of Technology, Rourkela by passing the JEE examination and succesfully cleared the JOSAA counselling rounds. After that I received the application forms through the respective colleges's official website and then filled it up alongwith undergoing the physical verification process. Thereafter, I was admitted in the college after all the procedures were done and was assigned a hostel to live in and further proceed with my 4 years of Engineering journey.
