What Students Say
Likes
- Atmosphere is one thing I like the most. You get to work with many like minded and innovative peers and grow your network.
- Placements are quite good in MAIT. They are the best in all the colleges affiliated to GGSIPU.
- Professors are quite lenient about attendance. It's not like you MUST maintain 75% attendance. Professors say if you're not attending classes make sure you're learning and experiencing something new and growing all the while.
Dislikes
- Campus is small there not enought space of outdoor sports if even 20% of students want to play.
- The library have all the books you may need during your course but not much extra books such as novels etc
Course Curriculum Overview
As a student pursuing BTech in Computer Science and Engineering with a specialization in AI, I find the course curriculum quite relevant and comprehensive. The inclusion of core subjects like machine learning, neural networks, and natural language processing directly aligns with industry demands. Moreover, practical projects and internships enhance real-world application readiness. However, there's room for improvement in integrating emerging technologies like quantum computing and ethical AI considerations. The frequency and timing of exams are generally reasonable, but the difficulty level could be better balanced to encourage deeper understanding rather than rote memorization. Overall, the curriculum provides a solid foundation for both practical application and further academic pursuits.
Internships Opportunities
Students have access to diverse internship opportunities with reputed companies. Some prominent companies offering internships include 1. Google: Roles offered include software engineering intern, data analyst intern, and AI research intern. Students work on projects like developing new features for Google products, analyzing user data to improve services, and conducting research in machine learning algorithms. Stipend ranges from 30,000 to 50,000 INR per month. 2. Microsoft: Interns undertake roles such as software development engineer intern and product management intern. Projects may involve developing software solutions, testing new features, and assisting in product planning. Stipend varies between 35,000 to 60,000 INR per month. 3. Amazon: Interns are assigned roles like software development intern, business analyst intern, and cloud solutions architect intern. Stipends range from 25,000 to 45,000 INR per month. Overall internship opportunities are good if you have what it takes.
Placement Experience
At Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, campus placements typically begin in the seventh semester. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte, Zomato and Accenture regularly visit our campus, offering a variety of roles in software development, data analytics, and AI engineering. The highest package offered is around 52 LPA, while the average package ranges between 7-10 LPA. Approximately 80-85% of students secure placements each year. However, for those not opting for campus placements, the focus is on enhancing employability through internships, skill development programs, and networking for job opportunities in diverse sectors. Personally, I plan to pursue higher studies or venture into AI research post-graduation.
Fees and Financial Aid
Overall fee changes every year for a batch. For batch 2023-2027 the fee for the first year is ?1,73,900 and for the rest 3 years is ?1,53,000. The first year's fee is more because it includes some extra one time security deposit etc. There's no scholarship provided by college but you can avail education loan and other private scholarships like reliance foundation scholarship, tata scholarship etc. Placements in MAIT are the best in IPU with average package of 9LPA with highest ones going upto 52LPA. On campus placement offers are quite decent.
Campus Life
Campus Life of MAIT is pretty nice. You can play many sports such as cricket, basketball, volley ball, lawn tennis etc and every week or so there's some kind of competition or seminar in auditorium. There are many societies in MAIT like Affinity(music society), Aayaam(Dramatics society), Kiyara(Fashion society), FunkInMotion(western dance society) and all of the. Are very engaging and give you a fulfilling and learning experience. And there are numerous technical societies as well like ATOM, BYTE etc. The library has many books on literally every subject you'll study during your course and there are reputed magazines, journals etc as well. Although atmosphere is pretty awesome in MAIT but the campus is just a tad bit small but it doesn't matter when you have a lot to learn.
Admission
MAIT is the best private engineering college in Delhi. It is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. To be eligible for admission you need to appear in JEE Mains and clear the cutoff which is about 93-94%ile for CSE. Admission in MAIT is done throught the GGSIPU Counselling where there are rounds for allocation of seats to candidates. There are some concessions for categories in CRL(common rank list) for admission. Admission process is smooth but it takes quite some time.
