Course Curriculum Overview
-The course gives importance to both theory and practical aspects -The course provides good exposure to clinical settings as JIPMER has super speciality facilities -The year back system may be avoided -There are multiple internal exams at regular intervals and a university exam at the end of the academic year.
Internships Opportunities
-JIPMER does not provide campus placement opportunities however offers optional internship opportunities. Students are normally paid Rs.5000 during internships. -The students are to perform almost all the tasks expected from a staff posted in that position.
Fees and Financial Aid
-The fees are mostly fixed and do not increase yearly. -The fees for the first year is around Rs.11,000 and Rs.5870 for the following years. -The students may apply for various central and state scholarship schemes based on eligibility -No campus placement opportunities but internship opportunities available.
Campus Life
-SPANDAN is celebrated every year. -A well equipped library functions 24x7 with a wide collection of books. -The classrooms are air conditioned, equipped with projectors, screens and wifi. -JIPMER has facilities for all major sports like football, basketball, cricket, volleyball, badminton etc -Various groups like Tech groups, informals etc
Hostel Facilities
-Every room is provided with cupboards, cots etc. -A decent menu of meals is being served in the mess. -Hostels are provided at time of admission. Hostel fees is usually 12,000 per annum. -All hostels are located with in the campus
Admission
-The admission is based on NEET score -The information is available on www.jipmer.edu.in -I had availed OBC reservation -The NEET exam is conducted every year -I suggest the admission procedures may be conducted a bit earlier so that students don't have to wait for long.
