Remarks

My overall experience with the college was good and I feel proud to be part of it. The management in the college is best and helped me in my overall development.

Entrance Preview

I got 90% marks in my XII standard (commerce) and I further want to continue my studies in the subjects (mainly mathematics, economics and accountancy). So I decided to opt for the Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Delhi. Everyone dreams about getting admission in north campus colleges but not everybody got what they want. According to my score, Satyawati College is best because of some factors like short travel, good infrastructure, and faculty etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course I opted for was B.Com. (Prog.) and the curriculum offered was covering every aspect of education and resulted in my overall development. The subjects which were included in my course are the best and most important ones. The books associated with the subjects were also available in the library.

Internships Opportunities

There is a placement cell which sometimes offers internships to the students and this will help in the overall development of students.

Placement Experience

3

Placement facilities in this college are good and are still developing. There are not many opportunities for the students. There were different companies who organized placement drives in the college. But I believe that there are more opportunities for north campus students.

College Events

4

There are different events celebrated in the college from sports to cultural events. Every year an annual function is organized by the college and some awareness drives are also organized by the concerned organizations. College students arrange fresher's party for the students who got admission in the first year and first and second year students arrange farewell parties for the final year students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is well organised and feasible. The fee is cheap for all three years as compared to all other universities in India or even other colleges under University of Delhi. The overall fee structure under Du is quite impressive as compared to other universities in India.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers different scholarship programme every year to the deserving students. The information regarding scholarships can be found on college website.

Campus Life

5

The campus life is good and in the University of Delhi, there is zero tolerance again ragging. The college ground is very big and the sports coordinator is very friendly in nature. There are different cultural societies in college and they organize competitions like debate, religious events etc.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

There are no hostel facilities available for the students but there are some PG's in nearby localities within 2 km. of the college. This helps outside students to get the hostel like facility easily. There's no mess for food but the college canteen is good.

Alumni/Alumna

The senior students of this college are very helpful and especially the final year students. They are always ready to share their experience and to help the juniors.

Exam Structure

The exam structure for all the colleges under the University of Delhi is the same. There are semester wise exams. In total there are 6 semesters and each semester there are 4 exams (Including one generic exam per semester). These semester exams are conducted twice in a year (May & November).

Admission

In 2015 when CBSE exam results are out. I filled the Prospectus of University of Delhi. It contains all the courses offered by DU. I chose various courses like B.Com. (Hons.), B.Com. (Prog.), B.A. Mathematics (Hons.) and few more. When the first cut off list is published on DU website and I'm in the merit list of satyawati college. So for further process regarding admission I visited the college.

Faculty

5

All the faculty members are highly qualified and they are really helpful to the students. Teachers help the students in solving their doubts and they play a vital role in student's life. The office staff is very supportive and gives all the necessary details to the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

Placement Experience:

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
