Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science. I opted for Computer Science because of my interest in Technology and the other important and non-neglible factor which is placement. The curriculam was accordingly developed. We had all the coding sessions and hands on practical sessions. They covered almost 4-5 programming languages which were useful in placements. We also had subjects related to Networks,Automata theory,Data structures,Data science, Maxhine Learning, AI,IOT etc.. The areas of improvements can be self-learning and evaluation..
Internships Opportunities
There are a lot of internship opportunites in CIT. Companies like D.E.Shaw, MBRDDI,Caratlane,Informatica, Contlo,RootQuotient provide internship opportunities to students with a stipend ranging from 10,000-1,50,000. Some companies provide summer interships too.
Placement Experience
The placements are extraordinary in CIT. Specifically our year(2024), the highest package was 52 lpa. Companies come to college by the end of 3rd year itself. They recruit students for internships as well as full-time. The number of companies visited would be around 150. More than 500 students got placed. Few companies which recruit from CIT are D.E.Shaw,EXL Health,Soliton,Appviewx,Toshiba,KLA,Aqfer,MBRDI,Thorogood,Oracle,ARM,Commvault,Schneider,LNTCaratlane,TATA Elxsi,Bosch,HPE,Informatica,EY,Deloitte,Zoho,Accenture,TCS etc.. More than 90% of the students got placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure was divided into 2 categories. Regular and Self-supporting(SS). The regular fee is 26,000 and SS is 65000. There's no difference between these.. as the classes will be held together for both these students. There are scholarships avaialable for students from North-East. The complete cost of my education for 4 years was less than 3 lakhs. There will be exam fee charged for each semester which is 2000 rupees. The campus placements our year(2024) was tremendous as the highest package was 52lpa.. More than 50 companies visit and recruit students. They also provide internships with stipends raning from 10,000 to 1,50,000 rupees.
Campus Life
There are a more than 30 clubs in CIT. A fest named Natchaktra happens for freshers which would be mind-boggling. Coming to studies...CIT library has a wide range of books. You can access books from an app called Autolib whcih lets you doenload all the previous year question papers too.. The facilities and provisions in the classrooms re great. Each classroom has a smart board with a projector attached. The sports and ectra curricular activities are many ranging from cricket to kabadi.
Hostel Facilities
I personally opted for collegee hostel and it costed Rs30,000/year. The rooms were decent and spacious. We have rooms which are 4 sharing as well as 2 sharing. There is a hostel mess near the hostel which provides food all the 3 times. The food is good. The registration process for hostel is done once you enter the college.
Admission
The admission process for CIT was through counselling. It just needs our 12th cutoff which can be calculated by taking the average of physics , chemistry and mathematics. For the counselling process, we just need to fill the colleges in the order we prefer. You will be allocated seat if your cutoff meets the eligibility cutoff for that specific college. The application form, fees and dates are available in the TNEA website. I haven't availed any reservation benefits. The admission process was seamless as there were no exams being conducted.
Other Applied Colleges
P.S.G College of Technology - [PSGCT] | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Computer Science and Engineering)
My cutoff was not sufficient
