Course Curriculum Overview

3

The Instrumentation and Control Engineering curriculum at Netaji Subhas University of Technology covers relevant and comprehensive topics like sensors, signal processing, control systems, automation, and instrumentation. These subjects equip students for real-world applications across various industries like manufacturing, power, and oil & gas. The curriculum's practical components, projects, and industry exposure prepare learners well for professional roles or further academia. Potential areas of improvement include regularly updating the syllabus aligned with emerging technologies, increasing focus on interdisciplinary skills like programming and data analysis, and incorporating more hands-on training through industry collaborations. The university conducts mid & end-semester exams along with continuous evaluation components like assignments and quizzes. Exams assess conceptual understanding and application skills effectively with a moderate to high difficulty level.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Many companies offer internships to students in their third year of studies . Some of the popular companies that offer internships include Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Spinklr Adobe, Flipkart, Uber, Atlassian,Salesforce,Media.net,American Express etcc and many others. However, the availability of internships may vary from year to year. One should learn Data Structures and Algorithms along with Computer Networks,Operating System,Aptitude etc. Students who want to go in non tech roles such as Analysts roles have to prepare SQL,Python,Visualisation tools etc.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placement is the major plus point of this college. The average placement of COE branch was Rs. 15-18 LPA. Every top company come to this college be it Facebook, Amazon, Google, Microsoft etc. The placement rate is 100% here. The highest domestic package was Rs. 50LPA and Rs. 2 crores for international. You can also get an internship in your third year which helps the student get real-world experience along with some extra cash. But the scenario have changed as NSIT has undertaken two more campuses which have increased the number of candidates.During this recession times students from branches below Electrical Engineering are not able to sit for good companies infact ICE in some of the companies isn't allowed. The average package till now in this placement season is 7-8 LPA only to highest reaching 52LPA offered to CS/IT students with grade point more than 8.0. This year very less renowned companies visited Nsit campus and only a few of them hired good number of candidates.

Fees and Financial Aid

Regarding the fees its about ?229000 per year which almost sums about ? 10,00,000 for the 4 year programme. The break up per year is as follows considering some hikes every year. Tution Fee - ?72000 University Fee - ?92850 Student Fund - ? 24300 Examination Fee - ?15000 CVPSK - ? 7000 Facilities and Services ?24300 NSUT introduces the CVSPK Scheme-2020 providing fee reimbursement for top students, financial aid for economically deprived students, and incentives for joining Defense Services or excelling in GATE/UPSC exams. Details available on the university website. Rules named: CVSPK Talent Incentive, FWS Financial Assistance, and fee waiver in case of parent(s) death. Campus provides various Internships and Jobs opportunities but to be honest Nsit has expanded to two more campuses which have created a dip in placement stats.Nsit was known for its placements but this year being in recession and more number of students from all the campus have created very difficult for lower branches

Campus Life

4.5

NSUT provides comprehensive facilities to its students, including a central library with a vast collection of books, newspapers, journals, and a book bank. The university offers six well-maintained hostels, with entertainment options and security measures. In terms of sports, there are various facilities and infrastructure available like Cricket ground,Football ground, Snooker Room,Badminton Court, Gym along with expert trainers. The university also has 2 spacious and hygienic canteens, round-the-clock medical services, and additional facilities like a shopping center, banks, ATMs, and a guest house for visitors The classrooms are highly equiped with ACs, Smart Class,Mic and speakers along with projectors with auditorium like seats. There are various societies or clubs in NSIT such as Venatus - The Gaming Society, Debsoc - Debating Society,Enactus - Entrepreneurship Society , Mirage & Capella - Dance Society , Ashwamedha - Drama Society ,Ares - Robotic Society etc..

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facility is available in NSUT. Hostels are separate for boys and girls. Usually, every girl can get a hostel but a hostel for boys living in Delhi is a little difficult because they do not have many rooms. Outside Delhi and DASA students can easily get to the hostel. The hostel is usually single room (although double rooms also exist) and there are AC rooms too (only in girls hostel that too in triple sharing). Food quality is average but gets repetitive after a period of time. Security is tightest in NSUT. No outsider can go inside the hostel and no girl or boy can enter each other's hostel. The hostel fees is around 30-35k/ semester. This does includes the Mess fees. The mess fees is around 19k/semester, which would be repaid if the semester ends in less time or the food facilities are not provided for the specified time. One can also get Pgs near by our college like in Sewak Park or Dwarka Sector 3 or Nawada etc.

Admission

To get into NSUT through JEE, one needs a good JEE Main rank. Eligibility is 10+2 with PCM. Apply through joint counseling by JAC Delhi based on JEE rank. No separate application for NSUT. Fees include JEE registration and counselling. Reservation as per Delhi Govt norms. Qualifying rank relaxed for reserved categories. JEE Main is held twice a year - Jan and Apr/May. The best of two scores is considered. Objective MCQs from 10+2 PCM testing application skills. Highly competitive and difficult. Suggested improvements: More attempts, not restricting to best score, more exam centres across India, providing previous years' papers/mock tests officially by NTA for better prep. Systematic preparation over the years required. Overall, admission via joint counseling based on JEE rank is well-organized but very competitive process.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.
