College do assist for summar internship opportunities also student can arrange summer internships on their own as well. Diesel locomotive work DLW is the nearest Government PSU providing internship and students who don't get paid internships can opt for internship in DLW. Companies providing paid internships may include Microsoft, Google (G Soc), J.P Morgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Goldmann Sachs etc. Many students are able to convert these internships to a full fledged employment under pre placement offer scheme. In the 7th semester a subject is included to review internship done by the student by a panel of department professors. It is adviced to keep all the documents regarding the internship in order as they will review daily update, weekly update and a final review of the project.

Placement season start in the 7th Semester i.e penultimate Semester. College also assist in placement during Summer Internship program and students often convert those offers called as Pre placement offers (PPO). In the 7th semester students who are elligible for that company job profile, sit on company written test organised by placement cell and companies jointly. It is advisable to maintain a CGPA of 7 and above to be elligible to sit in placement as many companies have this as minimum eligibility criteria. After clearing those exams students are elligible to seat for the interview process which starts from December 1 every year. Companies are given slot based on the package and profile so highest package companies start from December 1 12:00 AM slot and so on. College placement team provide full support and assist in the preperartion for these process. Most of students get placed some dont opt, very few dont get placed due to backlog or other such issue. There is lack of core job.

The fee structure is very student friendly and cheap, specially reserved candidates get fee consession regardless of family income. There are many scholarships and Financial assistance provided by the Institute and other third party organizations based on need, merit or both. One has to score atleast more than 7 CGPA to be eligible for these scholarships. College also provide basic requirements such as books, material, subscriptions of required softwares etc. It has a very robust placement process both for summer internship and final placement. Highest package is given by mostly IT companies for computer science students. Other branches placement is also on par with India's top colleges. Though, mostly opportunities are in consulting, IT sectors etc.

Campus life among all IITs is best in IIT BHU due to its location in Varanasi which is a very Holy as well as chill City in itself. Plathora of Ghats and Streets is biggest attractions in Varanasi. Varanasi in terms of college and students provide a very secure and safe learning environment, Students of BHU and IIT BHU are respected all over the City and locals are very helpful to the BHU and IIT BHU students. IIT BHU Students have the privilage to join any course, activity, event being held in any of BHU Departments. Many students learn foreign language courses to upskill or persure it as a hobby. There are main 3 festivals by IIT BHU that is Kashi Yatra (Cultural), Technex (Techno management), Spardha (Sports), which are attended by students of other IITs as well as other top college students in India. Hostels are very student friendly and feels like Home.

Hostels are mostly double occupancy, provided table, chair, bed and a cupboard. All the hostels are in square closed shape and inside the hotels there are many garden, trees etc. Every hostels have Table Tennis table, Television, Common meeting place, Other such necessary facilities. The hostel fees is included in the total fees and it is complusory in first year to live in Hostel, only local students given option to not opt for the Hostel room. IIT BHU messes are the best mess in whole India and its is very affordable around 10000 per semester. The Maharaj Ji (Head chef) System is very unique to IIT BHU and one can choose among various mess run by various Maharaj Jis for any semester. There are cuisine specific messes as well, like South Indian mess, Satvik mess (Jain food). Mess also provide Non-Veg options 3 days in a week.

To apply to IIT BHU one has to give JEE now JEE ADVANCED. I had Rank 671 in SC to get this college my score was around 131 out of 360. Application is live every year around Feburary, all this detail can be seen on internet and is accessible easily. In my year i.e. 2012 the organising institute was IIT Delhi, each year different IITs organise the JEE Advanced exam. There are 2 papers of JEE Advance on the same days with duration of 3 Hrs each and 2 Hrs of break in between. Must read books include H.C Verma, Resnick Haliday, J.D Lee for Inorganic, A. Das Gupta for Mathematics, All NCERTs, S.L Looney for Coordinate Geometry and Algebra. Exam paper consist of Multiple Choice Questions, Numerical type questions, MCQs with multiple write answers (MSQ). Candidate should focus on their favourite topics in each subject as solving 30 - 40 % questions accurately can assure a good rank in JEE Advance. Exam committee can add SOPs/Interviews Processes with Guided councelling for Candidates.
