Remarks

Since the relocation of the college, the campus seems more promising than that of the earlier one. Since there are not placements through this college, ensure it is the last college on your list while choosing and selecting among different colleges. The staff members are terrible and I'll advise opting for a better college.

Entrance Preview

It is one of the few colleges that offers BE in Instrumentation. Also, the cut-off for this college was very low. The older building of this college was located in Koparkhairne and it was easier to commute. The brochure from this college also seems far too promising. Furthermore, they claimed that many companies and MNCs come for recruitment.

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

The course is pretty exhaustive including various topics intermingling with different streams of Engineering. You get to learn bits and pieces of the other fields and also get an in-depth knowledge of Process Industries and Automation Industries. You get to learn programming and Designing

Internships Opportunities

No, Smt. Indira Gandhi CoE does not provide with internships and also hardly any companies visit for campus interviews.

Placement Experience

0.5

The placement in-charge of Instrumentation branch takes no initiatives for providing proper job opportunities. Since there are no campus interviews/recruitments students are forced to pay other organizations that offer such opportunities. The companies that placement in-charge offers have positions far too minor/irrelevant to the position an Instrumentation Engineer should have.

College Events

3

Every year the college conducts two festivities. One of that being a technical fest (tech-fest) where events related to the basic curriculum is conducted and the winners are awarded prizes. The other one is a cultural fest that includes fun games, competitions, and talent hunts.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees keep on increasing every year under the pretense of "required funding for the new college building." Since the college has been relocated from koparkhairane to Ghansoli, the fees have been increased exponentially. Furthermore, they compel the students to pay extra fees for college papers and will not accept any other stationery.

Fees and Financial Aid

They offer a scholarship for four students in each class. Also, the fees vary from caste-to-caste as each of them gets an exemption from fees with the varying percentage.

Campus Life

2.5

The gender ratio would be approx 7:3 (Males: Females), the campus life was just average since there was not much of a campus space to start with. You get to interact with students from different branches during sports events where they are played against each other and the winner would receive the trophy.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

No hostel is provided by the college. But there are rooms nearby where students can accommodate by paying rent. The canteen is very unhygienic, filled with rats and another pest. There have been numerous incidence where students have felt ill and been admitted later due to food poisoning.

Alumni/Alumna

The college conducts an alumni meet every year where they invite the alumnus for entertainment and snacks.

Exam Structure

Engineering comprises of 4 years. Each year consists of two semesters. So in total 8 semesters. Each semester comprises of a minimum of six subjects. Subjects for the first year is common throughout all the branches. Each semester includes two unit test and one board examination.

Admission

I scored 75 in my MH Cet. Then selected which coarse I was interested in for doing Engineering and made a list of those colleges. Smt. Indira Gandhi CoE was 3rd on my list just after Vivekanand Colg and RAIT. But since the cut-off for this college was low I was alloted the seat in the college restricting my chance to fill the betterment form.

Faculty

0.5

The faulty for the branch of Instrumentation is below average. Except few faculty members rest of them do not give you marks in your internal assessment no matter how ideal you are. This greatly affects your overall aggregate and percentage. Furthermore, they just pile you with useless assignments that will just cost you time and labor. Most of your time will go while completing these assignments and hardly learning anything that is important and valid for the course curriculum

Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
