A better college but not the best

A very good college with limited infrastructure which can't be complained upon can be developed into an autonomous institute with the academics and faculty members it has got as a boon

As per the seat allotment from KEA is concerned I got this college in the second round.BIT was on my list because it hails as number 1 college among VTU affiliated colleges.it has also had a very good history and a good number of placements every year. the other reasons are like it is situated in the central part of Bangalore which is reachable through different modes like metro, KSRTC and BMTC buses

BIT is affiliated to Vishveshwarayya technological university (VTU) BELAGAUM.it follows the syllabus prescribed by the VTU for each and every branch and subject.the course curriculum is usually revised once in four years, whatever the changes suggested by AICTE are very well implemented with respect to the course. the curriculum seems to be lagging when compared to the updated new theories and there is very less attention for research.when compared to autonomous colleges course curriculum is poor and there r very few modern-day technical challenges discussed.

Yes as per the training and placement cell stats and notice boards, there are few opportunities for internships which are available through college .the stipend is usually about 10-20k per month.

The placements are usually good but not the best. there r plenty of students opting for IT companies such as Accenture (3-3.5 lpa), Wipro, TCS, INFOSYS, and so on, though they r from Civil, mech, IEM, etc. CS and EC students get the most number of offers in both core and IT companies. Other branches such as EEE, ISE, TCE, IT also get a good number of offers but very less from their core companies. civil and mech branches get less offers.the package ranges between 3.5lpa - 14lpa every year. About 178 students r placed during the academic year 2018. there r companies like BOSCH, TECHLABS, INFOSYS, etc coming in for placements. but Accenture takes in a big number of students (100-150).

Manthan is the annual festival held in the college during the month of march.it is a big event conducted by the college with lots of cultural aspects in it. about 2000 people take part in it. there r various competitions conducted during the course of the event.

The government fees are about 51000 for those who have come through KCET. An additional fee of about 26000 is to be paid to the college as college fees irrespective of any modes of admission. For the students who have come through management, the fee is a bit high which ranges over 2lakh per year, depending on the branches they opt for.the comedy students also have to pay about 1.7lakh per year. But as far the KCET students are concerned the govt fees + college fees 77000 is feasible.

There r no scholarship/loan facilities offered by the college administration. but there r many govt scholarships/loans and many other scholarships a student can avail with good support from the scholarship section of the college.

The campus is very small surrounded by degree colleges and medical colleges which are of the same parent organization. the gender ratio is good in all branches.there is no private ground for sports activities, but some sports such as football cricket can be played in national college ground which is nearby.an annual kabaddi meet is organized every year for two days. there r many students coming in from North India, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana. the labs are very well maintained and equipped.tehre r various clubs in the college operating on extracurricular activities such as in literature, adventure, sports, technical, etc there are workshops conducted in almost all the branches.arduiono and robotics workshop was conducted in our branch so far.

The hostel facilities are already good. the boy's hostel is situated right next to the college itself. with a hospital a few meters away, medical facilities are good. the rooms are maintained very neatly and the hostel staff is of good friendly nature. the mess menu consists of both North Indian and south Indian dishes whole day, the food is ok .hostel students are allotted three per room. there r many pg's nearby. their rentals range about 6-8k per month.

The alumni network consists some IAS, IPS officers, tech experts, successful startup founders, politicians, senior professors etc.i haven't had any interactions with the alumni network till now.but the senior students are very helpful and friendly.

The exams are conducted by VTU commonly for all other affiliated colleges as well. For the 2017 scheme of students, it's 60:40 scheme where they have to write the external exam for 100 marks(which is reduced to 60)and other 40 marks is from the internals. there r three internals conducted and all the three internals marks r compulsory for the total score as the average of three internals (30) and 10 marks from the quiz sessions, assignments, seminars r considered. the theory internals is very frequent each month and doesn't get u any time. there r study holidays btw the exams and also before the exams.

After the KCET Rankings were declared,we had to verify our documents within the given time and date at KARNATAKA EXAMINATION AUTHORITY.then we r allowed to make our choices online on which we get a college appropriate to our rank.once I got BIT in second round I had to pay the fees through KEA in two r three days to get the admission order.when I got the admission order online after paying fees I contacted the admission cell of BIT where I gave them all the required documents (SSLC,PUC MARKS CARD, ADMISSION ORDER,ANY OTHER CERTIFICATES if u r claiming any reservations).After all the verification procedures I agree to pay the college fees(misc) as well to the college.the notification was released by the college two weeks before the announcement of KCET results.

As far the faculty quality is concerned, BIT is the best among many other colleges. Because the many faculty members here have more than 15 years of experience in teaching and a few years of industrial experience too. their knowledge level is high as many of them have a good research background.almost all of them r very well versed in their subjects and are passionate about teaching. they follow simple methods and student-friendly nature
