I choose this course in order to explore in the field of economics and gain experience of finance world. It is also related to the real world experiences. Teaching methods of professors is quite creative and unique.

Companies like google,intel,hp, NSE, etc. gave internships with stipends to students. They also gave them projeccts help them in enchancing their skills and experience in their respective fields results in better career opportunities.

Fifth semesterstudents become eligible for campus placements .Coal India, Bharat Aluminium Company Limited ,Microsoft etc.companies are visited and highest package 2.5 crore and twenty six lakh average package.Around 80% of students getting placements

Fees and Financial Aid

Total fee of our course for first year is around 1.1 lakh and scholarships are also provided for bright and weaker section students . This fee contains are hostel , mess, academic, medical etc. expenses. Scholarships like Merit cum scholarships, pragati ,indira gandhi etc. are provided.

Campus Life

Spring fest and Kshitij are two major fests helds in january every year. Inter IIT and Inter hall competitions are also held. There is a wide source of books in library. Virtual classrooms are also there. Societies like debating, pravah, encore,rca, ecelll are also there for holistic development of students.

Hostel Facilities

All hostel essentials are provided including bed ,study tables etc. Hostel mess menu food is also good and healthy . Registration for hostel is also along with academic registration . It is alloted at the time of admission.

Hostel Fee: INR 36000 per year

Admission

I give exam conducted by NTA and got selected this year. Eligibility for this course is 12th with minimum percentage 55% and PCM stream. Seats are reserved as per the reservation quota. Exam level was moderate and anyone with hard work can conquer it.

For placement and internship we have CCD ( Career development center ) and it ensure that students are getting all the opportunities for interview with top companies like Microsoft, google, Goldman Sache amazon and so on. students can apply for internship in 5th semester and can sit for placement in their 8th semester, other than campus placement students can apply anywhere for off campus placement if they are meeting thier crieteria.

Placements in the campus are good. Most of the tech companies allow all the branches to sit for the tests. Eligibility criterial for many companies is around 7 CGPA. The average package is around 15 LPA. 90%of registered students get placed

I choose my course that chemistry because of the fact that I had got the rank that came under it and another reason is chemistry department is quite old here even if kanpur chemistry department is better for core, you will get chance for non core too here. Courses now deal more on chemistry related stuff. No need for course improvement Frequency is near end and mid sem there will be exams mode

Placement Experience:

The placement is good in IIT KGP in comparison to other colleges. People are eligible to sit for placements in their fourth year can sit for placements through CDC. The placements are held in two phases. In session 24-25, we have seen 1000+ offers to students in first phase. After getting degree, I would also go for doing job.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course for the first year is easy overall , maybe challenging for biology students because involvement of Maths in the curriculum but they can decrease their load by practicing Maths problems, asking doubts, approaching the instructors or their personal mentors. Otherwise the course is mixed in a good way with theoretical and practical part. Labs are conducted of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and CS in first year. You can choose CS as an minor in higher classes.

Placement Experience:

It's a research Institute so no one really thinks about placements but still there's a placement cell in college and it tries it's best get as many company as they can... Placements are decent in chemistry maths and biology

IIT KHARGPUR- WORTH IT?

Placement Experience:

from 7th semester (for btech students), 9th semester (for dual degree students) students are eligible for campus placements. there are numerous companies which visit the campus...and generally nearly all students get placed during the placement season, but recently there has been recession and companies are not taking less number of the students than they usually do.
